LeatherWorks rip-off, fraudulent sales false contact information, preys on SCA fans leatherworks.com Island Heights New Jersey
I looked through the leatherworks site with a bit of confidence and found interesting items that I really liked and wished to purchase. The site has an address and phone number. I jumped the gun and purchased a jacket on 9/29/05 with my credit card. I did receive an automatice response to my payment, but it was like a computer response.
On October 5, the money was withdrawn from my account, yet after numerous e-mails on my behalf reguarding shipping info, and whether I should increase payment to receive item quicker, I still received no response. I kept e-mailing and trying the phone number listed on the site only to discover that it was not in service. After numerous e-mails, because I still had hope my order was just slow, I decided (after one month now) that I should take some action. I have even tried to reach the company through postal address and still no response.
For a business that boasts CIA investigation for fraudulent buyers on its website, I say, turn the investigation on the company. I recommend e-bay to any and all now...at least there is a system of checks and balances there.
