Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
So I am in the process of re-establishing my credit. I am currently with using the service of a consolidation program. I have been with thir program about 2 years now, and I am alomost done paying off all my bad debts. I decided to improve my credit score a little bit sooner so I applied for a credit card with Visa. I have always like Visa so thats when I came across this company. I applied for with Legacy Visa over the phone and asked alot of questions. I am scared to take anything out because I am barely recovering from major credit problems. The representative on the phone told me that if I got a card through them that I would be establishing good gredit and that they would do credit reviews on my account every six months to increase my credit limit, thus increasing my credit score on my credit report.

I told her to go ahead with the application. So I recieve my credit card in the mail about 2 to 3 weeks later and I call the number to if there were any charges on my account. I knew that there would be a fee for a new account, there always are! So I called the number on the back of the card and the computer on the other line said that I had a balance of $117.00, wich I thought there was nothing wrong with that, its new new account fee. So I had $133.00 left on the cards credit limit. I though well I don't need to use that I'll keep the balance low. I decided to fuel up my truck using the card. I used $30.00 to fill it up so that would leave me with a balance of $103.00. I recieved the first bill in the mail about a week after and to my surpirse they claimed that I went over the credit limit. The showed a balance of $263.25 and a $25.00 over the limit fee. I was totaly shocked! Oh my word what is going on! So I called the company and aksed where they got that balance, they began to feed me a bunch of bull crap so I said fine, I will pay the whole amount. I use a bill payment services provided by my bank and made a payment to Legacy Visa in the amount of $263.25 on March 31 0f 2005. I called the company to ask if they recieved the payment and they told me yes, BUT, my acount was going to be placed on a 10 day freeze until the checked they recieved from the bank cleared. I said fine. Ten days went by and I tried to use the credit card to fuel up my truck again and the attendants tells me that the card is declined.

So I called the company and asked them what was going on, their respons was that its a 15 day freeze on my card not a 10 day freeze like they had told me the first time. So it has now been 25 days since I made the first payment and my account is still in a freeze and they are charging me $14.00 for montly fees and $25.00 for over the limit fees because the credit limit is $0.00 since my account is frozen. I have been calling the card company and they keep giving me the run around and tell me to call some bogus number. And the balance keeps getting higher and higher. This company needs to be punished. They need to stop taking advantage of the vulnerable people who are trying to establish their credit worthiness.

Stay away from credit cards. Seems like you've had some problems in the past with debt. The quickest way to get BACK into debt and more PROBLEMS is through the use of credit cards as you've already found out with your experience with Legacy. Did they charge you $117.00 just to have a card with a $100+ open to buy? Stay away from them

After a whole month that I made the payment to Legacy Visa, they finally removed the freeze on my account. I have brought the balance down to zero and have closed the account with them. I cannot believe how exspensive that card was. I paid almost $600.00 for the 2 months that I used the card. BEWARE OF THIS CARD COMPANY! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!
