Pine Straw Scam - Brandon Scott Williamson

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, June 29, 2018

I am the owner of Legion Landscaping, LLC out of Acworth, GA. I service many communties and HOAs in the Cobb County Georgia area. One of them includes a neighborhood called The Willows at Chastain off Canton Road. Every year we pine straw the communty with 800 bales of premium long needle pine straw. 800 bales is overkill and makes the straw very thick. In years passed the community had 800-850 bales of pine straw put down and it covered the whole community.

Here is where we were scammed.....I hired a pine straw guy from craigslist that was offereing pine straw installation at a cheap price....first mistake. His name was Scott Williamson....he also goes by Brandon Wiliamson. He gave me this story he got the pine straw from his farms in south Georgia and there was no middle man and that is why he was able to give us such a good price. He visited the property and said he could do the install the following week and 800 bales would be more than enough. We agreed 800 bales at $4.75 per bale

I met him at the property at 7 am to give him down deposit for straw. He took my $1500 and had the check cashed within 30 minutes. I know because the bank called to verify. Mid day I went to check and see how the progress was going. The pine straw was very thin and did not look like quality straw. He said he has already laid 400 bales. I asked him to make sure he went back and thickened up the straw and if he had not been using premium long needle he needle to go get some because that is what we agreeded to.

At the end of the day the propety was only 3/4 of the way covered and Scott said he used the 800 bales. When I went to check on things it turned out to be the worst pine straw job I have ever seen. He went as thin as possible and I had mutiple homeowners in the community say they only brought in about 400 bales. When I asked why he didn't use long needle he lied and said he did but it was obviously slash/short needle.

I told him he would need to fix this and cover the hundreds of thin spots all over the property before we could pay the final amount due.

He went crazy and said he was going to start knocking on every homeowners door if we did not pay him in full right away. He said he would get contractor liens and knock on every door and threaten them. In the end that same day I paid this scam artist Scott Williamson (Brandon Williamson) in full for the pine straw even the job was not completed so he would not threaten my clients. I have read many reports on him via this side and others where he pulled the same scam. He has been doing it for years.

After I paid him over $3500 I had to go back and pay for another 800 bales of long needle pine straw costing me another $2000 and had to lay pine straw all week by myself to not turn a multiple thousand dollar loss on the job.

Feel free to contact me at 678-773-9170 or [email protected] to ask me anything you want about the information. I can show you reports of where he has done the same thing to multiple people.

In the end I wrote a bad review on every single online page he had (Yelp, Google, Etc) explaining my story and he wrote this about us to get back at us.
