Oct.22/ 2012 I took my 2004 VOLVOxc90 to Leikin VOLVO in Ohio, to repair 6 items. The Sun roof was broken, and wouldn't close completely. When storm Sandy hit it dumped 7 inches of water on the passenger floor.Under the passenger seat is the Stereo Amplifier, which was under water and I told David Leighty to replace it after they fix the sunroof.3) Replace the Exhaust system 4) Order a key and a remote 5) Replace the Water pump and the Timing belt, all hoses and the thermostat.and 6) I told David to fix the wiring for the Brake lights.A few minutes later he found a loaner car for me to drive. I told David "Why don't you put $4000 down to start with so as your Tech is working on it they would have money to work with, and I said I am no hurry and as long as I have something to drive, I'd be fine".David had me sign a loaner car form, where he wrote in $0.00 per day, as he said if your fixing all this, we'll take care of the loaner. I never saw a repair order or was I asked to sign a repair order. Many calls to and from David, when he started to tell me LIES, I asked him to STOP working on it and I now need a WRITTEN estimate.Weeks later I get a loose leaf paper emailed to me with 5 items (I had 6). David told me he had to replace 2 COMPUTERS to fix the BRAKE lights est.$2100.00 OK, order the parts. Estimate now at $5900.Parts were put in and David said the Brake lights were not working. He stated his tech searched further and found THE OPEN WIRE! David said he wasn't charging me to fix the wire, but I had to pay for the $2200 parts anyway! David charged me $963.00 for the loaner car, charged me 3 times for the same part on one job and charged me $110.00 to tell me that the STEREO Amplifier got wet.I told David," WE already knew that, I told you to replace the Amplifier", and he then stated his Brilliant Technician "CLEANED the Sunroof DRAINS" at a charge of $269.00. I asked him what about the half inch gap where it won't close on the roof, he said his "TECH RECHECKED it and he feels it should be ok now! I lost it at that point. Here we are, $7500.00, with a 1/2 inch gap in the roof NEVER CHECKED AT ALL! Now they fixed the Sunroof, David did not go over the final repair order

with me( 8 pages), I paid $8700.00 cash, and left.I told David on day one, I am in no hurry, I will fix what ever you tell me I need, and DON'T LIE TO ME! 9 weeks in the shop, the Stereo Amp. was never replaced, the exhaust rattles. After I got the Volvo home, I re-installed the 2 Computers and reloaded the software and the Brake lights work.Like I said to David Leighty on Oct.22, there WAS AN OPEN WIRE!

I talked to MIKE BONITOTTI, the Service manager, and he was clueless. But he and I both know where the problem is.And it is a problem he will NOT ADDRESS! The problem is in the Parts department. When a Technician orders special Order parts, they are NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN THEM, and they are told to sell them any way they can. This puts the Tech and the Service advisor in a bad position, having to LIE to to the customers, and in turn not make problems with their parts personel. You may wonder how I would know that, well I am a MASTER ACURA, MERCEDES and VOLVO Technician.I own 3 Volvo's, there are 4 more in my family, and I have written three books on Volvo repair.I am also a L5 Instructor.I have worked with the same parts personel now at LEIKIN, and I have met at least 6 former Techs and I have asked each of them "Why they left LEIKIN", and they all say the same thing, "They all wanted the customers to trust them and they did not like being put in a position where they could not complain when something was wrong or suggest changes needed to regain that trust they so desprately need". Me, I worked for Motorcars Volvo for 18 years and was the shop foreman. The team of Techs I worked with managed to achieve a 100% CSI rating, a first for any Volvo Franchise in Ohio. Then, I was run over in the parking lot and both of my legs were crushed.
