I am seriously angered by the misuse of consumer/supplier trust. As a consumer I feel violated and ripped off. The 2 Durabrand 1002 DVD players made by the Lenoxx Electronic Corp and supplied to Wal*Mart are severly defective. I purchased the 2 DVD players 1002 for gifts to my children for Christmas 2007. Initially they worked fine, but after a few months of normal use they began to function improperly. At first the sound wasn't present when the video was on the TV, then it couldn't read the discs, then it now won't even "spin" the DVD when placed in the unit. I have tried to contact the company with the information given on the product's box. The email address ([email protected]) is now "undeliverable" , phone number (800-315-5885) is disconnected, and the website(http://lenoxx.com) has the same information as I previously stated and asks for money orders for repair of the product that is sent to corporate address ( 35 Brunswick Avenue Edison NJ 08817). I fear if I sent my merchandise with a money order that I would not see my DVD players or money again! Or that they would return my merchandise the same that I sent them in...broken. They specifically state "no personal checks"! I have sent grievence email to corporate Wal*Mart to see if they will refund my hard earned dollars that I spent at their store. Lenoxx supplied the Durabrand 1002 to Wal*Mart, who is imprinted on product's packaging. This Lenoxx Electronics Corporation is NO WHERE to be found!!

Walmart knew about it

There have been some blogs out there on the internet that Walmart knew the supplier was going under and continued to sell the merchandise. I see about six complaints a week on fixya.com concerning defects on the whole product line. Walmart needs to refund everyone their money that is having a problem with the product line. By continuing to file reports on here about the Durabrand product line, the media might get involved with it and ask Walmart what the deal is.

call walmart corporate and demand they exchange them. 1-800-925-6278 Several things to remember .. durabrand is trademarked by walmart, lenoxx was just a supplier. Walmart knew lenoxx could not honor the warrantee when they sold the product. They had to have known they were out of business. Lenoxx went under in December of 2007. they missrepresented a material aspect of a product, that being that there was warrantee when they knew there was no one to honor it. Walmart has agree to exchange mine for one of equal or lesser value (I assume would also credit me the full amount for one of higher value, which I will likely get)
