Ripoff, lens crafter can not provide and technical reference to the progressive lens called AVP. Total scam, they show you this photoshop image of regular progessive, digitally enhanced to make you think the AVP technology is superior, don't believe it, its all hype. Gimmick, gimmick, gimmick. SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO TO COSTCO AND GET THE SAME LENS WITH UV COATING, SCRATCH GUARD ALL INCLUSIVE.

I wore Lens Crafters AVP lens for 3 years.  I've worn progressives 20+ years. I recently pruchased glasses without AVP.  The difference was remarkable.AVP gets rid of the blur on the side of the glasses and gives a much wider field of vision.  If you cannot tell the difference in AVP when first purchased wear them for an extended period and then try glasses without AVP.
I returned the glasses without AVP and ordered new glasses with AVP. The difference is well worth the money and reading is so much easier.

AVP stands for Advanced View Progressive. It's a response to Lens Crafters trying to compete with a lens called Varilux, which also offers a wide field of vision. The only difference being that the customer doesn't pay the extra 200 dollars to have the brand name Varilux. Both are digitally surfaced and made to the specifications of the customers eye and the frame chosen. It is not a rip-off or a scam. They're legitimately great lenses and work very well for most customers.

The information in this post is absolutely false. LensCrafters Advance View Progressive uses wavefront technology to use more lens surface for a wider field of vision. It is NOT our regular progressive lens, in fact customers (and I'm one of them, I've worn both, AVP is by far superior) say it is the best progressive lens they've ever had. The charts we use are NOT "photoshopped" but are actual representations of our AVP lens properties. LC does not commit fraud, we are a national company, does Divorce person actually think that we could do that with all the scrutiny we get from the Federal Govt?

I haven't had any problems with Lenscrafters where I live because I did not order any progressive lenses or obvious bifocals because age is still an employment and hiring issue here. LIKE IT OR NOT, EMPLOYERS STILL DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU HERE BECAUSE OF AGE AND NOTHING SAYS AGE LIKE BIFOCALS WITH LINES OR WITHOUT LINES. SO I DON'T WEAR GLASSES WHEN I AM WORKING UP CLOSE AND ONLY USE THEM WHEN I AM DRIVING. I DON'T KNOW YOUR EYE SITUATION BUT UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED BIFOCALS OR MAYBE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK OR YOU ARE ALREADY ON SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY OR SOMETHING, YOU SHOULD CONSIDER DOING THE SAME THING IF YOU DO HAVE TO WORK. I HAD MY CHOICE OF PROGRESSIVE LINELESS BIFOCALS OR PHOTOTINTS THAT WOULD PROTECT MY EYES FROM THE SUN AND SINCE IT GOTS HOT AS EVERYTHING HERE IN THE SUMMER, I AM OPTING FOR THE PHOTOTINT. I DON'T FALL FOR THEIR HARD SELL SCAMS BECAUSE SUDDENLY I DON'T QUITE COMPREHEND ENGLISH HARD SELL VERY WELL AND I JUST GET THE ADVERTISED SPECIALS AND THAT IT IS IT. THEY JUST WANT ME OUT OF THEIR STORE AND EVERYTHING WORKS VERY WELL. LEARN TO SAY NO TO THE HARD SELLS.
