Through the GROUPON  website, the company offered a claimed $95 value pair of "designer" sunglasses for $5.00.  Withing 10-days,I received what seemed to be small-sized pair of ordinary looking sunglasses in a sturdy wooden box.  The box contained no brochures, forms or letters. 20 days later my debit card was charged $95.  I contacted the company and was told the original $5 charge was for "Shipping & Handling."  I was asssured my account would be credited upon my returning the glasses.

I did so via the USPS with "Certificate of Mailing."  My account was not credited.   Thereafter, each month for the next two months, I recieved another pair of small of non-descript sunglasses,  again absent of documentation.  My debit card was charged $45 each month.  Each month I returned the sunglasses after calling the company and receiving an RMA#  (return materials authorization  number) to be included with the returned product.

Each time I called, to no avail, I demanded to be removed from the automatic shipment "Plan." Each month I was assured that my account would be credited upon return of the sunglasses.  However, although the returns were well documented I continued to receive another pair of sumglasses and a charge to my debit card.  Each month I challanged the unauthorized charges via my bank's channels.  After four months the bank re-credited my account for the first $95.

I've not received another pair of sunglasses for 2 months now.  However, I've yet to receive the subsequent  credits to my account for the returned products.   I reported the company's trade practices to the FTC, and my state Attorney General's office,  replaced the debit card with a new number, and, today, filed a lawsuit in Federal Court (re: fruadulent interstate trade practices).   Let's see what comes of it....
