Susan, I live in Albany, New York and you are right there is no 54th street. The number you have on your report is not in service it was a big scam, hope you didnt fall for it!

If memory serves correctly, the FBI and the Secret Service both have departments that investigate this type of crime. I'd start by contacting your local office of either of these agencies. Also, you should be able to log onto the web site of the New York State Bar and be able to verify if contact is truly an attorney. I'm sure that this type of solicitation would violate professional ethics rules in New York.

Also, you should be able to log onto the web site of the New York State Bar and be able to verify if contact is truly an attorney.
