Purchased a LG frost-free refrigerator on 12-5-05 with 1 year warranty. The product became non-productive on 1-27-07. Evaporater motor iced up which causes the computer in the refrigerator to seize to function. Also causing the refrigerator part to malfunction.

LG has been notified and refuses to aid us in any way due to the one year warranty expiration.

THIS IS A FACTORY DEFFECT DUE TO THE COMPUTER THAT HAS BEEN PLACED IN THE REFRIGERATOR AND CEASES TO LET THE OTHER COMPONETS DO THEIR FUNCTIONS.

WHAT COMPANY MANUFACTURES A PRODUCT THAT WILL LAST NO LONGER THAN A 1 YEAR WARRANTY SIGNAFIES?

I state that this is a company that is not reptuable and should stand behind its product regardless.

Recalls were made for their 2004 models, how about 2005 models with same problems.

I bought an LG, and I will never get anything else from this company. My fridge is literally falling apart, just over a year! I have had refridgerators last 20 years and still work perfectly. LG is plainly a ripoff. I bought a washer and dryer and fridge from LG, and the dryer needed the tumbler replaced after 6 months. This is not the way appliances should be built. It's ridiculous, it's a ripoff, and clearly, these people have no clue what 'quality control' stands for. And, Steve, I was not offered an extended warranty. Not that I would've bought it anyways, since nobody expects a major appliance to break in 1 YEAR!

Eleanor, WHY should they fix it?

Eleanor, You purchased a product with a 1 year warranty. The product lasted more than a year. Where is the rip off? Nowadays, ANY electronic/computerized product will have problems and the EXTENDED WARRANTY should be purchased. Where did you buy it? I'm sure they offered you the extended warranty, which you obviously declined.
