This is from the Better Business Bureau, updated December 9, 2003.

Nature of Business

According to information in Bureau files, for $299 this company offers in a telemarketing presentation to provide a $2,000 limit Mastercard to consumers, including those with less than perfect credit. Consumers who have responded to the offer report that they received a packet of material including information on credit repair, a catalog shopping service, cell phones, trips, and a secured credit card activation kit offer for a $39.95 application fee. Robert Houttuin is the Manager. Robert Houttuin is also the designated customer relations contact for the company.

Customer Experience

Since Nov. 3, 2003, the Bureau has received 10 complaints on this company indicating that consumers agreed to a payment from their personal checking accounts by phone and were told their transactions with the company could not be canceled and that portion of the conversation was recorded. None of these consumers have reported receiving the credit card they believed the company had promised them. These complaints remain pending in our Bureau files at this time, and our office is in the process of corresponding with Liberty Benifits to obtain the company's position and response. We will update this portion of the report, as further information is received and as these complaints are closed in our Bureau files

I was lucky enough to follow the directions on this site to get my money back from my bank. As I researched it further, I found that the company is actually based out of Canada, as has been scamming people under multiple names (please got to the Better Business Bureau's website for further explanation), for multiple services. I denied the charges to the bank, filed a report to the Better Business Bureau, filed a report here, contacted the FCC and the Attorney General at this point. I still wish there was more that I could do to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I hope you find this report useful, and before it is too late.
