This Company makes me sick...literally.  I worked for a "person" who told me straight up, that he would not approve any financial hardship forms unless they were for at least $100, even though the Company has check boxes for patients to mark what they can afford - anywhere from 0 to over $100.  This guy actually said that if they can't afford what he wants, maybe we should check to see if the patient smokes, or drinks beer, or has internet or cable....if they do, then they should give those things up so they can make their payment....of course, he covered his A** by stating we could not, by law, ask the patient those questions, but we should stop by their homes to look at their lifestyle.  I rebutted by saying that alot of people have lost their jobs in the last few years and they might have bills, or houses they are trying to hold on to...his reply? "That's their own fault".  I have heard of upper management actually withholding patient prescribed equipment if the patient does not get transferred to their center!  Actually NOT delivering equipment the patient needs, because they don't have the count on their books!  I have seen people forced to work multiple job descriptions, but only being paid for one, people forced to perform upper-management duties, but paid a much lower salary that their counterparts.  I have seen employees forced to perform duties they are not qualified, trained and in some cases "legally" certified to perform, all to put cash in the pockets of the upper echelon. They only hire the bare bones, and then expect satisfaction. I have experienced equipment orders rejected over and over by upper-management for the same reason.  I had a patient go to another company because it took 9 days for her CPAP machine to be set up.  These people could care less about the patients.  They care about nothing more than money and how much they can put in their wallets. They treat their employees like second class citizens, and the patients don't mean anything except $.  There is no "Caring Choice" in Lincare.
