Lindelle Studios - MJS Studios Lost Photos, Stolen Money, I cringe when I think of them... Colmar, Formally Jenkintown Pennsylvania
Long story going to try to be short...
We were married in October of 2005...
Wife goes to David's Bridal, our number gets forwarded to Lindelle.
Lindelle Calls us, tells us to set up meeting.
March 2004 - Go to meeting, supposed to start at 6:30, don't sit down til 7:30. Meetings overlap.
Talk to guy who tries to tell us that they have an awesome "backup plan!" if anything breaks. (remember this line..)
sells us a great deal on photos, even gets us a free trip to somewhere we never use anyway.
don't hear from them for almost a year...
October of 2005 - 2 days before wedding = after numerous phone calls to the company that's taking our pictures, we were told two days before the wedding that we never sent them a "shot sheet" and I state that if they received their phone calls, they would have had it months prior. My wife and I take 5 minutes to go over something that takes couples 5 weeks to plan.
Oct 2005 Day of wedding - Jacqueline our photographer - great photographer. would love to see her branch out on her own. She would do a lot better. She was funny, looked like she had a great time taking pictures. But wait.. Camera starts to falter. Remember.. "backup plan!"
Apparently they told her to take one camera because "nothing will happen" and now we have no pictures of our wedding party after the church, before the reception. We wasted an hour taking pictures for something that we never got.. She was actually cool enough to let us know what happened, and actually got us to go back to the place we took them after the party was over so we can get a few other shots. But that "backup plan" back fired on them...
Fast forward two months, got our proofs, spoke to the director about getting extra pictures blown up because they screwed up on their "backup plan" and he obliged. Got the albums, thought to myself, "finally, we're done with this company"
Fast forward a year later... we get a letter in the mail stating that we can purchase our negative with copyright release form (this is important!!) so we can print out each photo ourselves.. (yay!)
We call them, send them our check... and then wait........... for four months........... and we call them back.... they've already cashed our check.... four months ago.... and they claim that they sent them out... four months ago..... but we never got them.
Needless to say we were called liars and that we should have gotten them, but we never did.. We demanded a refund, and they needed proof that they sent us a check.. faxed the sheet over to them... and four months after that, finally our refund. The only pictures we have are the proofs, which lost it's quality when scanning them into the computer.
Remember the copyright release form? Never got it... I would like to have a blown up picture of my wife and I that I can print out myself to give to my Mother for Christmas, but I still can't, because I have no copyright to do so...
Lindelle Studios / MJS Studios, thank you for motivating me to become a wedding photographer, so I can learn from your mistakes, and making sure that I have a backup plan if anything goes wrong, and making sure that I have a DVD of pictures/proofs for my clients the night of their wedding, or making sure that I'm not providing my clients with headaches before the best day of their lives.
