Complaint Review: LISA BREEN DBA LA FEMME BUILDERS - SARATOGA SPRINGS NEW YORK

Going to refrain from further public comment.  It is not helpful.

The saga with this builder continues.  She took $20,000 from me to "help her cash flow" problem so she could get asbestos abatement done in my home that was a direct result of her mismanagement  She could not get along with the State or City municipalities or hazardous materials monitoring company or the abatement company and I had to  negotiate direcltly to get the work done - which could only be done if promised that I keep her off the property with no contact with any of these bureaus.  This entire time maintaining my desire to have the work completed by her subcontractors and getting the job done.

I paid $40,000. to abate my home. She refuses to refund my $20,000 payment as she said she "used that money for other expenses"  but can't provide an accurate accounting of where all this money went. No work was done from the day I wrote that check on 4/19/18 through June 5, yet she told me on June 11 that she needed $25,000 additional to pay her subcontractors who had been back on the job for 4 days.  1 worker, 4 days does not equal $25,000.00.

There is not a room or surface in my home that is complete.  The house has no plumbing, no electric lights, no kitchen, 1/2 the house has no floors.  This is not $74,029.98 worth of work.  She is a fraud.  She has misappropriated funds and she finds nothing wrong with her behavior.  I tried diligently to get an accounting of the use of funds to no avail.  She quit my job at 12:01 AM by email.

Throughout this saga she admits in several emails and texts that she "can't believe I made such a mistake"" yet takes no responsibility for correcting her mistakes.  The "error's" on her part:  

1.  Not performing a hazardous materials test before she started demo.  

2.  Not applying for a building permit until the house was demo'd and she was forced by the City to get a permit.  The permit was issued June 5. 2018  a full       6 months after she started tearing my house apart.    

3.  Not complying with any municipality laws, repeatedly defying the demands of the city and state.

4.  Misappropriating funds

Today, I had the police remove her from my property after she entered my home after being told she would hear from my lawyer.  She did not knock, she did not call, she just walked in and started mouthing off to me.  She called into question my mental health, my financial stability and my character in front of a contractor I was interviewing.   I called 911 to get her off my property.  Her sub-contractors let themselves in as well.  They are nice, talented workers and i had no issue with them being there to gather their tools.  I take issue with her acting as if she has a right to my property.  She was no longer the contractor of record by her own doing.  She has no reason to be in my home and no right to let herself in and not leave when asked. 

Every single statement I make in this report is true and can be backed up by the City, the State, Email and text correspondence.
