We rented a house from Lisa McKenna of Adirondack Rentals in upstate New York. We paid a $900 security deposit plus first and last month's rent, totalling $2700 to move into this rental house, which Lisa McKenna owns at 64 Bloomingdale Avenue, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

Lisa McKenna never told us that the house was extremely dirty and dilapidated. When we arrived with our three Great Danes and three cats, we were shocked to see the condition of the house and it was extremely filthy as though the house had not been cleaned in several years.

When we moved out of the house, we spent ten hours cleaning the house from top to bottom using bleach and Pine Sol, scrubbing all the walls, window frames, doors, and floors. We just received a partial refund of our $900 security deposit. Lisa McKenna sent a note with this check stating that she was deducting five days of rent for dog odor. Great Danes are known for being a low-to-no odor breed of dog.

We feel as though we are being taken advantage of by Lisa McKenna, who clearly did not keep up the house to begin with, i.e. broken windows, doors taped together with duct tape, black mold in the bathroom, cracked toilet seat, chunks of plaster missing from the walls, broken and missing window screens. I took photos of the house when we moved in because she refused to do a walk-through inspection with us.

They say a picture is worth one thousand words. I have the photos to prove what the house looked like when we first moved in, and I would be happy to supply these photos to you.

My experience with Lisa McKenna has been quite the opposite.I have been renting an apartment from Lisa for the past three years.

Upon moving in,my apartment was clean and in excellent condition. From the moment I began renting from Lisa she has been honest,up front and attentive to any issues that arise.Even allowing changes in my lease such as..allowing me to have pets(with no extra security deposit).

Lisa has done and continues to do numerous projects to maintain her properties..including her property on Bloomingdale Avenue(in which I have witnessed first hand)..as well as being extremely flexible and generous!I have never been happier or trusted any other landlord as much as I do Lisa.
