The Animal Rescue community is a small world and it can only work, we can only Save Lives when we can trust one another. When a person proves themselves untrustworthy we have to let others in Rescue know that person has broken the faith.
The Situation: Rottweiler puppy for sale on Craigslist near Boston, MA.
The Plan: A Rescue in New York was willing to take the puppy in and a woman in the Boston, area stepped forward to pick up the puppy paying for her with funds "borrowed" from a friend that had to be reimbursed quickly. The Rescue was not going to hand over monies to an unknown person so the first link in the Transport chain had the funds for reimbursement.
So, Local person is going to 1. meet Craigslist seller, 2. purchase the puppy, 3. temp foster and 4. do first leg of Transport. And here is where things fell apart. The meet happen, the purchase happen, the foster happen, kinda, and then, it didn't.
People have donated money. Transport is en route from Long Island to the meeting location in Fairfield, CT, cash in hand, remember the funds that "had to be reimbursed quickly"?
At that point Local woman posts this message to the Rescue on Facebook:
Hi to all. *** I have answered your messages on fb. I told you we have decided to keep bella and a training facility has offered free puppy and training classes. I appreciate all **** does and the money raised for bella can be used for other dogs in need. Thanks and please keep this amicable. Bella is in great hands I assure you all. Sorry *** I sent you a message that we would not be coming. Sorry for the inconvenience. Best to you all

WHAT? WHAT? At the beginning of this drama you stated you couldn't take this puppy for more than a couple of nights till Transport could happen!!
AND NOW the final slap in the face to any Rescue:
Local woman dumps the puppy at a shelter. Again I say, WHAT?!!! You purchased a puppy off Craigslist for a Rescue, then you dump that same puppy in a SHELTER??? Instead of delivering the puppy to the RESCUE as you had promised, you dump the PUP at a SHELTER??
Shelter has contacted Rescue and has promised to keep Rescue updated. Shelter has stated they plan to do a fundraiser to reimburse local woman. Never before have I hoped a fundraiser fails. Sorry I'm getting personal here.
Lisa Shubert, who lives somewhere near Boston, You, Broke the Faith. You, Failed the Trust. You were sent to RESCUE a Puppy and YOU, Lisa Shubert dumped that Puppy into a shelter. Please do not Adopt, Foster or Transport with this woman.
