LOCAL LIGHTHOUSE SCAM: Local Lighthouse cold-calls you and claims that for $299.00 per month, they will "optimize" your website, so that it will be on the first page of Google. Local Lighthouse may even promise not to charge your credit card until you are on the first page of Google. BS. Local Lighthouse charges your credit card immediately, and never does anything to optimize your website.
BEWARE: Local Lighthouse does just one thing. It aggressively tries to force your c-card company to pay them the ripoff monthly fee, even after you've disputed it. The way many c-card companies work, is that the last voice wins. In other words, when Local Lighthouse responds to the c-card company with some bs, the c-card company will reinstate the charges. You must then call the c-card company and re-dispute the monthly charges every few months, whenever you see it back on your statement. Last voice wins. thieves, crooks, avoid

I just received a call from these people. They specifically said that they were a "contractor for Google".

On February 13, 2013, I received the deceptive telemarketing call "important information for the Business Owner regarding your Google Lisiting" (just because other SEO companies do it, doesn't make it right). The pitch, a 6 page website for $199 first month, $99 per month thereafter with submission to 12 directories (6 month agreement term). The claim is that the site will end up on the First Page of Google, Yahoo & Bing (as most Digital Marketers know, this is nearly impossible).
After hearing the pitch, I received information form the following email footer:
Local Lighthouse
1381 Newort Ave., Ste 153

Here's the part that I would like to see Local Lighthouse change:
1. Telemarketing Call - It is deceptive to small business owners to represent the service as "important information about your Google Places listing or Google listing". Again, just because other telemarketing industries (auto warranty) doesn't make it right.
The purpose of including Google in the script is to take advantage of small business owners into thinking there is something wrong with their Google listing. They should remove the word "Google" from their Telemarketing War Dialer Script.
Finally, just because other SEO Company do it, doesn't make it right.

To Local Lighthouse:
First and foremost the issue is not that you are claiming to be with google. When you sign people up you use the bait and switch technique. I was told that you would make an amazing website better than one we have. The website you made is the most basic website I have ever seen. No way is it anywhere near as good as the website I have now. I was told my company would be on the first page of google no later than 90 days based on my keywords. Its been 7 months and after numerous emails and complaints to your company we cannot even be found on google for the main service we provide. One of our other services we provide we were already on the first page so your company did absolutely nothing there. When calling your customer service today your representitive was extremely rude, condecending, interrupted me non stop, told me I was wong and wouldnt listen. I decided to call your company becasue my emails are never answered. The rude represtitive told me something completely different told this was all exspalined when i signed up. Told me I was wrong!!! So at that point I told her i will cancel and her exact words were "that is your choice". So we call call your company all we want. I wouldnt bother because your customer service reps are rude and much more. Nothing was resolved and she argued with me terribly. Not to mention you have 14 complaints against you on scambook and who knows where else. If you take one more penny from me you will be sued.

First and foremost, we have not used the verbiage, "we are Google", we used to use a marketing line that is used by many Seo Companies that was,"Data service provider for Google, Yahoo and Bing". When this reference was used it was indicating that we create sites that are then submitted via Site Maps and other Webmaster Tools to let the different search engines know there is a new site and new data to crawl for relevant information. When someone clicked through to the sales floor we answered our phones, "Local Lighthouse this is _", as we still do. We send out emails to perspective clients and all marketing comes back to our business name, not a "Google Hoax". I have included a link to an active blog with an expert in the field crediting this form of advertising as correct, he may not agree with it, however is is not misleading: http://ronwiebe.com/2011/08/data-service-provider-for-google-seo-company. We have not used this term in over a year, will not use it again, and would like to let everyone know that these calls continue, but we are not behind them. There are other Local Seo companies even in our area that are using this to entice prospective clients to "push 1", they may even misrepresent ourselves when you click through.
We are a legitimate company that has proven results and a large client base for a reason, because our product and service speaks for itself. Any nationwide company can have bad reviews, especially in this industry, but whats truly important for everyone to know is; we are not hiding behind a DBA, have not hidden our address or changed our business name as many companies would. We are proud to be who we are and hope that this response will help clear the air.
To see some good things people are saying about us see below (we are not hiding, there are always bad with good and we show these proudly, they are helping us to become a better company):
