I am a former employee of Adentis Inc, located @ 312 2nd Street Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24011. This is the actual company who owns and operates the thebiglot.com and autohopper.com. Their staff is trained to tell consumers that they are Longwood Industries, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that employs physically handicapped folks in the Bedford, Va area. Not true.

There is one lady in their office who is employed by Longwood, she scans the newspapers and online listings of car sellers nationwide, and enters the seller's phone number into an automatic dialer, with a pre-recorded message from "Alan" who explains, in a 20 second message that he noticed that Longwood Industries already has buyers for their car (or boat, or motorhome, motorcycle, ATV, 5th wheel, travel trailer, etc.) in their area, and to please call back for more details @ 800-821-7025. Sound familiar??? Folks take it from me, DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAM!!!! If you call back you will have a salesperson answer the call and tell you that Alan is in the Research Department but they will be happy to help you if they can.

Well hello, I called for Alan what's his extension???? There is no Alan, he is a RECORDING. Once you settle down a bit from not being able to speak to the person who left a message for you to call him back, the salesperson goes into a pitch about how they have 30,000 buyers a day on their websites and guarantee to sell your "vehicle" within 30 days AT YOUR FULL ASKING PRICE, or you get your money back. Come on!!!! Full asking price!!!! How are they that good??? They're not. What you get after you give them your credit card number is internet advertising for your used vehicle, for 30 days with a guarantee to get your money back, well most of it, if your vehicle does not sell. If this is what you're looking for then maybe you should consider an advertising source that doesn't lie to you about already having buyers lined up for your car in your area, when that is just a lie. Plain and Simple a lie!!!

If you have trouble getting your money back there may be a few reasons why. You must have gotten them a picture of the vehicle within the first 14 days of the listing, if not, guess what? No $$$$ back. You must get them your refund form back postmarked within 10 days following the 30 days in which the ads ran online, if not guess what? No $$$$ back. Also, if you do fulfill the refund guidelines, they still generally take 2 billing cycles to refund your credit card, hoping that you will forget about it. Call them, call them often the numbers are: 800-821-7025, or 540-342-4216. Ask for the General Manager Mike McMahon, or owners Bryant or Mason Cass.
