Sounds similar to the scam that adult friend finder was doing, you get a message before the account expires, you reply and find out it is a robot or spider sending you stuff, not a real person. A lot of these dating sites have the same problems, your getting ready to let you membership expire and all of a sudden there are two messages for you. The one guy with adult friend finder said to the message, "Hey are you a swinger or prostitute baby?" and the spider sent back a message that had nothing to do with his. SCAMMMMMM!!

I am currently a member of loveontheweb.com and have been experiencing similar, if not exactly, things to the initial complaint. I was a member of Matchmaker.com and was lured to join loveontheweb.com by a fairly interesting and attractive female. It has become fairly obvious to me that this female is not reading my letters and sending some kind of "form letter" out telling about her day.
In fact, I will attach the last few emails. I sent a blank email, to see if I would get a response back at one point and I think they might have a way to check. I have modified the names, I am K and she is M:

Hope your feeling better. I had a pretty busy weekend. Party after party after party. Seriously ready for some down time. But, after that I would like to meet you for a drink or lunch sometime. You up for it?

Hey, how are you? I'm so glad I don't have to work today, I feel horrible.. I think I have a sinus infection again or something like that because my head is feeling awful.
I can't wait to go lay down again but I want to wait for my sinus medecine to kick in first.

Subj: Please file as a Rebuttal Date: 8/1/2001 7:16:07 AM US Mountain Standard Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected] (LoveOnTheWeb.net) Hello, We were pretty upset to find a report on your site of our web site as reported by one of our members. The person that filed this report was warned several time not to randomly insult and threaten our members for personal information. It is the nature of pay-to-use singles sites to get abuse of this type and as the main reason people use our site is the security we provide, it is our duty to remove any threats. When warnings go ignored, a person is deleted weather they have paid or not. This policy is also clearly stated in our terms of use that a person must read before becoming a trial member. Furthermore, we do not, never have had or will ever allow any "computer generated answers" to e-mails within our system. We ask you to kindly remove the slanderous "report" on your webpage or post this rebuttal next to it. It is unfair to us, unfair to our clients to post statements from our dissatisfied customers who have abused our system and found themselves locked out after warnings. We have 5000 happy customers to every one like this. Thank you.
