DO NOT HAVE AN INSTALLATION DONE BY LOWES! I bought a Pella storm door (about $500) at the end of 2006 and paid them for their "professional" installation (should be called unprofessional installation). The door didn't sit right and jiggled so I called for service. They came out multiple time and rigged it (the equivalant of using bubble gum to fix a crack in the Hoover Dam) and it was never fixed right. I called a few times each month requesting more service for the next 18 months. All I was ever told by the installation department and store manager was that they couldn't do anything else for me and refused to come out even though I supposedly had a warranty. I finally gave up because I felt like I spent more time calling and writing Lowes than I did working. Last week, during a storm, this door, which was locked, got ripped off the latch and opened 180 degrees (as you know these doors aren't supposed to even open a full 90 degrees). Not only did the door get damaged as well as part of the parts of the door get broken, my door frame was ripped apart and the trim work on my door was damaged as well as the door itself will no longer latch shut. I have about $2000 worth of damage conservatively. I contacted Lowes again. Not only did they refuse to help me, they refused to even come the 5 miles to my house to survey the damage. They accused me of never calling which I can prove I did with call records. They told me I was on my own and they refuse to help me. They measured the door wrong to begin with! They never installed it properly and now they refuse to fix their mistakes that are costing me a lot of money! STAY AWAY FROM LOWE'S FOR THEIR INSTALLATION SERVICES AND PRODUCTS - YOU WILL BE TRULY DISAPPOINTED!
