Perfect Flame - Pyro Magic - Lucas Innovations - Lowes Store Fire melts grill Wilkesboro North Carolina
I purchaseda Perfect Flame Grill lastfall. This grill had an infrared side burner. I decided this morning to clean the infrared side burner as we would be using it for Father's Day tomorrow. I sprayed the grate and around the edges of the burner with Green Works, the new Clorox all natural cleaner containing coconut oil and corn ethanol. I allowed it to soak for several minutes then wiped it off and rinsed it thoroughly with the garden hose. I noticed that a little of the paint on the edge of the unit had lifted and just made a note to myself not to use this product on the side burner again. I then turned the burner on to completely dry it. I went to water a few flowers and when I turned around the grill was on fire. The aluminum around the burner was molten hot and white hot chunks were dropping off. I ran to the grill and turned the gas off. The hose to the gas tank had started to blister. My husband pulled the grill away from the house. I then put the fire out with the garden hose. I don't know what caused the fire, whether it is the design of the infrared burner, the combination of the cleaner and paint on the side burner or just the ingredients in the cleaner but I felt this was important enough for others to know about.
