Lowes Rebate Scam on Appliances Lake Charles, Louisiana
I recently purchased a GEwashing machine from Lowes. The sign over the machine said that there would be a $50.00 rebate on the machine. I spoke at length with the salesman about the prices of various machines and that the net price with rebate would be equal to the other washer. He said the rebate form would be printed with the receipt.
When the receipt printed, there was no rebate form. The cashier said it happens sometimes, checked the model, and retrieved the rebate form from a computer terminal, while I waited. I submitted the rebate, and then get a letter saying it did not qualify. I called the number and was told that the rebate was for a "pair". The representative was dismissive of the complaint. The sign, salesman, and cashier misrepresented this rebate. There was no mention of "pair" at the store. This was deceptive and fraudulent. I will never buy anything at Lowes, ever.
