So called collection agency called wife @ least 15x's days and nights including Sunday's, trying to find me. Said I owed $1500 from 1 magazine co. and $2500 from another from 2002.

With each call to my wife, the woman/representitive would say lower amounts. Last amount told to my wife was $900 from 1 and $500 from other. All of these I never gave company consent to speak with my wife. I didn't even know 90% of these calls/conversations had taken place.

When same woman/rep finally talked to me, she said that I had been scamed by a magazine co. She said that they do this a lot and there was nothing I could do, but to pay $700 or agree to a lower amount on that day in the amount of $200. When she said that, I took down her company name and asked the location. My wife said that the amount was lower than the last time they spoke together. While on the phone with her, I searched the internet with info recieved. I found this website and a previous ripoff report on the same company with almost the same circumstances. I told her I wasn't "cool with this" and hung up on her.

I haven't paid this company, and I don't intend to.

I worked for this company for quite some time. I was not in the magazine collection part of the company but am very familiar with it. I also do not like the company when it comes to my experience working there. However I will point out that the company is closed on Sundays due to religious beliefs of the owner so I doubt the calls you are getting on Sundays are from them. Yeah you will get multiple calls each day if you dont answer or if the call was dropped due to an "auto dialer" (this is the case with most companies) When it comes to the Magazine collections they can not sue you for the debt nor can they report it to your credit report. The debts are legit however sometimes they come with limited identification information due to the actual magazine company so they may have been given contact info for you but they really need it for someone else by your same name. That happens a lot. Here is the simple solution: Send them a cease and desist letter so that they may no longer contact you. Then just forget about it because as I said they can't sue you nor report it to your credit so its not a big deal to blow off. Hope this is helpful for you.
