Lute Riley Honda refunding of GAP insurance SCAM Richardson Texas
I bought a used Toyota 4runner in 10/03 from Lute Riley Honda and purchased GAP insurance and an extended warranty. I traded in that car for a used mercedes 2 days ago at Manuel Dodge. The finance mngr at Manuel Dodge told me to be sure to get refunds of both the GAP insurance and extended warranty from Lute riley.
I went into Lute Riley today and the finance person (Dustin) told me very authoritatively that I was not entitled to a refund of the GAP. I expressed that the people at Manuel dodge told me I was. He again said NO. I went back to Manuel Dodge to verify this and they told me that Dustin was lying because I indeed was entitled to the refund. They told me it was in lute riley's interest to not give me the refund. They also told me Lute riley has been reported on in the past with Dateline NBC and 20/20 secondary to fraudulent sales and finance practices.
I went back to Lute Riley and asked to speak with a finnace mngr. Dustin came up to me and tried to "help" and I told him I didnt want to speak to him and that he lied to me. At this point, some man (I never got the name) came up to me and interrupted and told me to keep my voice down, accused me of having a bad attitute, and said he was offended that I would call Dustin a liar. He continued to berate me (all the while never apologizing for Dustin's "mistake," my wasted time, etc.) He told me Dustin was "new" and "didn't I understand that people could make mistakes and not know things when they're new to a job." Of course, I agreed untrained or poorly trained people could make mistakes, however, I stated that when I don't know the answer, I ask someone who does, rather than give false information that could've left me $374.11 short all the while lining their pocket. He told me that I was an "intelligent, persistent, and demanding woman and he was sure I would've figured out how to get the refund anyways." He continued to yell at me (again, never apologizing, never attempting to diffuse the situation.) I told him to fill out the papewrork and let me go. He then threw the papers at me and told me he wouldn't help me because I was "not nice." I then said f-you and left. Now I have papers unsigned that still have to go through that dreadful lying dealership in order to get my refund.
