Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have a 1974 Chevy Nova that I bought looking like crap and I spend 8 months with my dad fixing it up making it look like a real car again. The last thing we needed to have done was paint. We took it around town and Maaco gave the best deal.

We set up a date with them so they could take my car in and do little body work and paint the entire car. I paid an extra $300 to have the door jams painted and under the hood and trunk.

Here is my complaint - when I got the car back, my mom went to go pick it up because she wanted to surprise me when I got home, she did not inspect the car when she first got it, just took it home and when me and my dad found it we lifted up the hood and there was overspray all over my nice rebuilt engine! That's not the only thing, we looked all around the car and the tires had paint on them, under the fender wells were not painted like we requested and paid extra for, the trunk was stuck because the paint stuck (they didnt let it dry before closing it) and half of the hood was painted. We told them about this and they told us to come back in a month for them to take a look.

We agreed but why a month later?? 4 weeks had passed and we took it back to the same place and when we got there, we told them about the problem and they were rude about it. They said they didnt remember us, so I told them maybe you will remember my car, so we went out to look at it and they remembered. We walked around showing them the parts they missed and the owner was very very very rude about it and had no respect for older cars (slamming my car door shut and hood). I asked him to be a little bit more careful and he asked me why?!? He told me he is the one who did all the work and we did not appreciate how much he's done for us making this car look good. He said all we did was look at all the bad stuff to the car and he told us he busted his a*s making this car look good. He also said, the only reason there is no paint under the hood is because the spray gun couldn't reach it!

There were also drips all around the car which I didn't like and he told me that its not a custom paint shop, we can paint it however we want! Wow I was pissed after this. He opened my door and was like, you could have at least taken this s**t off to make it look better, you made us mess up on it. Now how in the hell is it all of a sudden my fault that they didn't do a good job?!? And also he told me that the drips give it the "factory" look. Show me one car that has drips on the outside?!?

Of course Maaco refused to paint our car again so my mom is looking into sueing them for the amount the car was painted for, so wish me luck!

I believe everything you say about this Maaco. I had my car painted there too. Originally there was hair and fingerprints on it. The owner was unbelievably rude to me also. I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was. He did agree to repaint the car, and it looked better, but now, only a year and a half later, I already have chips and bubbles. not to mention, there was overspray on the windows, and they painted leather hinge covers on my hood, and the key holes and mirrors, which should have remained black. I payed for their most expensive paint job too, and would hate to see their cheap one if that is what I got. I wanted to go back to have it fixed, but was literally scared to even talk to the owner. I started shaking just thinking about seeing him again! I really, really regret having my car painted. I had a 98 mustang that needed the hood painted. Now I have a 98 mustang that needs to be totally striped and repainted. I do not recommend them to anyone, no matter how cheap they are. I would suggest filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I would like to, but think it may be too late for me. I would support anything you do to get that guy out of business.
