Hi Justin I think i spoke a man named John or Jonathan. I actually dont remember and he said he will talk to a friend of his in floria because he thinks that magazine publishers service is a company in florida and not in Montreal. This was in May 28 2018.

You stated "BBB vancouver won't help me because they don't deal with Montreal". I know there are different divisions almost like grids to cover the masses so to speak. However to the best of my knowledge a registered claim is Canada wide. That being said, what is the specific number you called or the specific URL you used when contacting the BBB? If you can provide specific details regarding who you contacted, through which platform and what contact information you used, I'll look into it for you and get back to you with my findings.

Hi Justin, I cancelled all of my cards but they are still sending me Bill or harassment bill letters to pay. I already sent a cease and desist. BBB vancouver won't help me because they don't deal with Montreal is there another way for this to end? I sent the magazine's back along with a registered cease and desist letter, called anti fraud canada told me to just send off the anti fraud letter.

To vJustine - (Canada) regarding your reply on Thursday June 7th 2018.
Your Message:
"""Hi Justin
I have the same situation as you, i was duped by this company because they said something about a free watch, when I realized it was a scam, I called my bank and cancelled the card digit that i handed to them over the phone. So my question is, i have stopped all payments but they are still sending magazines and harassments payment letters to my home.
Did you ask a lawyer to represent you to file a cease and desist letter to the despicable company and how did you get the them to stop sending magazine and harassment letters.
I need your advice for this is driving me bonkers!!"""
My Response:
I posted my resolution in a comment on my own report scrolling down the page. In answer to your question no I did not contact a lawyer. Although this happened 6 years ago I'm a bit shocked it's still happening. This magazine sham is relentless to say the least.
Simply put, I called the better business bureau who made the magazine company cease and dessist in a sense. I received a letter confirmation in the mail some weeks later confirming the cancellation of the account. I never received any of the paid funds back, but the good news is I wasn't paying any more to them with the account closed.
So contact the better business bereau and be specific and detail with your report. Names, dates, funds paid, received communications ect.. In my case 6 years ago the representative I spoke with was already aware of the company I was calling to report which was helpful. Hope this points you in the right direction.

Read and good luck fellow rip off buddy. One sure way to stop payments would be to cancel / change your credit card number. Otherise call the better business bureau and explain your situation which is what I did to stop the subscription with no further payments.

I never posted the aftermath to this issue but since someone replied recently I received an e-mail notification and thought maybe I should. Going from memmory I called the publisher's magazine company one final time and pleaded for a resolution with peace of mind that my next phone call would be to the better business bureau. Again I was talked down to with a rudeness and attitude that simply should not exist in any business shady or otherwise.

My only regret to this reply is that I dont have the actual letter confirming the cancellation, it was rather laughable in itself. The letter read something along the lines of "we realize that sometimes our customer's change thier minds".

I don't have to write the whole story all over again, since Justin has done a great job in gathering all the details and it's 99% identical to the ordeal that I have been going through. However, I was about to just pay the collections company off because I was fed up and luckily I stumbled upon this website.
They collected payments from me as well for quite a while and then when I checked my credit card statement I was shocked cause I never received any magazines or watch or anything at all from them. I received a billion calls from them though to pay the remaining amount. Every time I told them that I hadn't received any magazine, they were so rude and heartless. The worst people that I ever had to deal with.
At this point I am just frustrated and I'd rather pay them off than let them eat up my peace. I have a balance of $287.50 and it is just pathetic that consumers are allowed to go through such harassment. Unbelievable!
