BUYER BEWARE!

Your worst concerns will become a reality with Magic Jack!

Ordering Phone Service you would at least expect phone service, right? Magic Jack is proof that Mass-Marketing can out-do Bad Service. Why, did I order? Because, to bottom line it, I was trying to get off being cheap. And you get what you pay for. First, I bought the original Magic Jack. Which was really bad! Sound Quality, Delays, picks up every single kink in your internet. SO I up-ed my Internet speed package and had my service checked numerous times. Still did ot correct the problem... I should also add I have a small business thast clients call my home number. This is how I foundhw bad the service was.

Why did business slow down? Hmmm, recession hit? I thought maybe this was a problem. No, later I find from repeat-clients, they had been calling my number and they just received the "Magic Jack customer you are calling is unavailable" without being able to leave a message. even though I thought I had a Voice Mail. Or they just didn't hear anything at all and thought I was out of business. I did not find this out until a year later after I already renewed my service again. At that time it was $19.95. Then the price went up... I bought the new (at that time) Magic Jack Plus. Which was supposed to be "Best"... Better? Well same again.

And being foolish I even bought the New New Magic Jack PLUS 2013!!! Same problems.

If you have a problem, you can ONLY contact customer service via Chat. And the chat is with individuals that are English is not their first language which will compound your problems. They do not acknowledge the root of your issues and try their best just to get you off the line. And when asked if you have a repetitive problem, will a customer be compensated in anyway. I would expect at least a couple months added to service would be a nice effort. Their Customer Service just says No! Then disconnects your chat.

I cannot see where this phone is helpful for an individual unless you needed some extra phone lines to fool people where you are locsted. YOU CANNOT DEPEND ON THE SERVICE FOR RECEIVING CALLS. Which makes this service 'almost' useless.

I'm not endorsing Vonage. I quit with them to try Magic Jack. I thought their service was substandard... compared to Magic Jack they are the GOLD Standard in Phone Service.

 

So if you want extremely cheap access to a phone. That is:

-  somewhat dependable when Calling Out only

- Completely UNRELIABLE when receiving Inbound Calls

- Most undependable Voice Mail Service available in telephone History

- Their Call Logs are a scam. They Log a partial amount of calls.

- "The Worst" Customer Service, You can't call anyone, You Can't Email anyone if you need help

- BEWARE They will automatically CHARGE your account BEFORE Your service is Due with whatever card they have on file. Even if you had no intentions of renewing.

... then this is the service for you.
