My wife arranged to have a train jumper house rented for our son's 3rd birthday party at his daycare. She finds several companies locally renting train jumpers and calls the first one, Magic Jump. Sure they have a train jumper and they'll reserve it for us on the date we need it.

Well, on the day of his TRAIN THEMED party we get a call from Magic Jump saying the train jumper is wet due to rain and would we like to choose another jumper house. This call is at 8:30 am, the day of his party, they were suppose to set up the jumper between 8-9am because the party is scheduled for 10am and now there's no way we'd get another company over to his daycare, so, the only thing we can do is go with the Dragon jumper house.

This is not the end of the world sort of thing, but what really annoys me is that it had been raining for 2 days already and you would think that one of the brainiacs working at this company might have noticed on Monday or even Tuesday that the train jump house that's reserved for Wednesday is wet and perhaps the customer should be contacted to discuss other options or to make other arrangementsno, not even a discount on the Dragon jumper to make up for their poor services.

The owner/manager called us and left a message saying they could not discount the rental this time but would give us a discount on a future rentaluhhmmmlike that's gonna happen!

Yes, we could have cancelled when we received their phone call at 8:30 am but the only one who looses at that point is our 3 year old.

This is just a heads up for anyone checking out jump house rental companies, this one sucks!!

Some Background Information: Magic Jump Rentals has been in business since 1996, it is one of the earliest inflatable rental companies servicing the Los Angeles County area. Magic Jump Rentals has serviced events of all types from house parties, business parties, park events, school events, movie shoots, carnivals, block parties, and so on. We have over 70 different types of inflatables and offer one of the biggest varieties to choose from, from bounce houses, obstacle courses, water units, slides, kid combos, interactive units, conession machines, water games, and mechanical bulls. Year after year Magic Jump Rentals increases its number of units and varieties to choose from, along with selling its older and used units and restocking with new units. Magic Jump Rentals will never bring you a unit that is damaged or considerably wet due to rain from a previous order. Once an inflatabe unit has been wet due to rain or the use of water as an option, it takes a whole day to clean the unit and dry all the water out of them, or else the unit will begin to reek and smell. In this certain occasion in 2005 for the Train jumper deliver, as noted it rained 2 days before from monday and tuesday, which means that the Train jumper was rented out during one of those days and was considerably wet due to the rain. It is Magic Jump Rentals policy to cancel orders once there is rain, however, if it is not raining in the morning, it is the customers decision to go ahead with the order or cancel it. Sometimes it does begin to rain during a rental date and units become wet. In this case that is exactly what had happened, the unit was ordered the day before and had rained on it. Since it takes a whole day to clean and dry the unit, we were unable to do so, and gave the option to the customer to have a replacement jumper delivered, since we only have one train jumper, we were unable to deliver that specific unit. We could have delivered the train jumper but it would have been worse to have a wet and smelly train jumper instead of a clean and new alternate. The reason we had called the morning of was because when people rent units they generally rent them until night, and since we picked up the unit at night we could have only called in the morning and not late at night when everyone is sleeping, we dont intrude on peoples time. Customer must have been a first time inflatable rental, and it is not his fault he did not understand the rental process. Magic Jump Rentals has one of the most return customers, and it is thanks to these return customers that we have continued to grow year after year.
