We wanted to save money on our phone bill, so we bought MagicJack Plus. It is supposed to work directly from the router, so you don't have to use or keep your computer on all the time. I spent two to four hours per day for four days with tech support! Very helpful techs, ran me through the course of changing every wire, connection, adapter, extension, network connection, etc. several times each. It would work for awhile, then we would lose the dial tone and have no home phone again.

After all this frustration, we finally decided to go back to our previous carrier, who did not charge us to leave or return. However, we were surprised and infuriated to have to pay $32.34 to have them release the number, after paying them $21.00 to port it the first time. Their billing department, which is the only number we could reach for service, said that that is the charge. period. Satisfaction, or not, forget about it! Just pay up and shut up! Now, we have to wait and hope that they do release the number, as promised.

Don't bother with MagicJack! Save your money, and a lot of time trying to fix it!
