I recently purchased a Magic Jack Plus with the 5 year plan.  They sent 2 orders; one Magic Jack with the plan and a seperate Magic Jack Plus. Since I did not order the second device, I contacted them and told them I only wanted one and followed their instructions to the letter for return. The returned order was received by them on 10/28/13. They would not even pay the return shipping for their mistake. Any reputable company would do that and I assume this is part of their scam to send out more than you order so they can bill you on the same card and then claim they didn't have any part in the mistaken order.

They had billed me for each of the orders seperately and after a month of waiting for the refund I contacted them on their Live Chat system and was told they already had refunded me for the return.  I contacted my bank and they said no refunded amount had been received back to my account.  When I contacted them again via their Live Chat system, they then tried to give me some song and dance about it taking 2 billing cycles to refund it.  The order was placed on a debit card so there are no billing cycles and if it had been refunded, the amount should have showed in my account on the date they said they refunded it.

I contacted them yet again and finally got a customer service rep that said he would have it investigated by the billing dept. and I thought the matter was going to be rectified once they found they had not refunded the return.

Now they are telling me via an email from customer service that no refund will be issued because it was never billed.  I sent them a copy of the amount billed directly from my online account so they can't deny that they never took the money.  There is a transaction number so they are going to have a hard time claiming that.

They have no people to speak to in person and all communications with them have to be on this Live Chat system, the "customer service" people are impossible to reason with and I doubt for most that English is there first language.  They purposely try to frustrate you when they can't or won't answer questions, sometimes even to the point of being rude and condescending.  My bank, thankfully, is taking this on and said they would refund the amount.  If there is a class action suit against this scamming operation I would be happy to add my case to the, I'm certain, Mt. Everest pile of complaints against them.  I'd like to see these rip offs and scammers shut down for good!

It's really too bad because the product, for what it is, is quite serviceable but I fear this is not the end of my being Magic Jacked around ; )
