I have been reading several of these negative posts regarding MagicJack. I cannot believe how many complaints that simply state: "It wouldn't work with my computer". This is not a problem with MagicJack. It is most likely a user education issue. Let me explain. If the MagicJack device is able to communicate through the tubes to the series of MagicJack SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) servers on the correct ports, then MagicJack works like a dream. When customers say that MJ is a ripoff or that it doesn't work, in most cases it is just an incorrectly configured firewall. It could be a software or hardware firewall. This is posted right on the FAQs of MagicJack's own website. "If you are behind a network/external firewall or router, please open port 5060-5070 UDP." So, before you decide to come here an ruin the name of a great company and product, I would encourage you to visit their website and at least review the FAQs first. *Disclaimer* I am not affiliated with MagicJack in any way except to say that I am a very satisfied customer.
