First, I would like to say I am a big believer in the Automotive Aftermarket. For the enthusiast the aftermarket can help you put your own personal touch to any vehicle you own.

I am retired one of Ford Motor Companies Midwestern Assembly Plants. I have been a True Automotive Enthusiast for as long as I can remember. Whenever I purchase a vehicle, I can't ever leave it alone. Usually with a new vehicle one of the first changes I make is removing the cat-back factory exhaust for a High Performance Exhaust system. Ever since 2001 I have been buying Magnaflow Cat-Back High Performance systems, whenever I buy a new Vehicle. To date I have bought 5 Magnaflow Exhaust Kits for my vehicles. I also purchased Magnaflows for my 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet. I say this because I want to illustrate how loyal I've been to Magnaflow...

In Sept of this year I purchased a new Ford F-150 and the first thing I did when I got it home was to order a new Magnaflow Exhaust Kit. I went online and found Magnaflow offers two kits for my F-150... The kit, Part #15460 is the split dual rear exhaust system. This kit is the common dual exhaust system we have all grown up with. The second kit is Part #15461. This kit is dual exhaust, but the pipes are on the passenger side and come out the rear passenger tire.

I have always liked the look of separate dual exhaust, so this the kit I decided to buy the #15460 kit. The only caveat in their instructions was that the spare tire has to be removed. I figured that was no big deal, so I ordered the kit.

After the $600.00 #15460 kit arrived I took it to a National Muffler Chain Store to have it installed. I paid the Muffler shop $200.00 to do the Work.... Well the pipe on the drivers side wouldn't go on straight, it actually angels downward about 2".... The Technicians tried to get it to fit right, but it just wouldn't fit. So, here I am, out $800.00 for the most ridiculous looking Dual exhaust system in America.

I then went home and started a 3 week long debate with the people at Magnaflow. I was told by them ( After sending Pictures) the reason it didn't fit properly was because of the Ford Factory Installed towing System. I told them, that nowhere in their Catalog did it say anything about not buying their #15460 system if your truck has a Factory Installed Towing System.

I repeatedly asked them to make this right by allowing me to take this ugly #15460 off and exchange it under warranty for the proper #15461 system. Magnaflow will have no part of it, they say because the truck was started and run with the #15460 on it, they won't warranty it. Is that the most "LAME" excuse you have ever heard.... THERE OWN CATALOG GAVE THE INCORRECT INFORMATION, and THEY REFUSE TO WARRANTY IT!!!!

I have talked to their people in customer service all the way up to top level Management, and they refuse to make this right, even though the information in their catalog is WRONG!!!

If you purchase a Ford F-150, and want a Performance Exhaust, I would tell you to look elsewhere and purchase from FlowMaster, Borla, Gibson, anyone other from Magnaflow... I will never buy anything from Magnaflow again. Their Warranty is truly a Joke!!!

When told Buyer Beware, all I can say is Buyer Beware!!! this Company has gotten too d**n big, and they really do not care about their Customer Base.As truthful and Sincere as I can Be, so help me God!!!

I filed a premature Ripoff Report against Magnaflow Performance Exhaust. The V.P. of Global Sales personally contacted me himself. He said that I did not contact upper level management, that I did not go up the chain of hierarchy within their Corporate structure. He assured me that all Magnaflow wanted was for me to be happy with the exhaust kit and the customer service they provided.
The Company bent over backwards to make sure I was totally happy. The new exhaust kit Magnaflow sent me looks and sounds wonderful on my 2012 Ford F-150. I am totally satisfied with my exhaust and the outstanding customer service provided by Magnaflow.

Today (10/26/2012) I received a personal phone call from Mr. Jon Holder, V.P. of Global Sales. Mr. Holder was very Kind and most Sincere. He told me that I never did get through to Top Level Management, as I initially reported.
He assured me that all Magnaflow wants is to have Satisfied, Happy Customers. He said the Company is not so big that they don't care about their Customers. I really feel very good about the Top level V.P. of Global Sales, contacted me personally. It goes to prove that Magnaflow truly cares about their Customers. Magnaflows products have always been tops in Quality, and the Sound of their High Performance Exhaust Systems are recognized as the Best in the Industry. I am now very happy with the way Magnaflow has handled this situation to my total approval.
