To answer your question about credit reporting... I am a credit analyst and have over 10 years of experience in almost every aspect of consumer lending. Most banks, collection agencies, etc report account information once per month if the account balance has changed, a delinquency is greater or less, or any other change in the account history. The reason why you see different things on different bureaus is not because Majestic (Columbus Bank and Trust) or Jefferson Capital or any other institution fails to report you correctly. When bureau reporting is sent, the bureaus update as they see fit. Updated info may show immediatly, it may be up to 2 months if ever. The bureaus priortize what THEY think needs to be reported. Although Majestic, Jefferson, or whatever financial institution it is DO and MUST report you correctly, any errors or untimeliness is the fault of the bureau. If you are concerned about the information being out of date or incorrect, send a dispute letter to the bureau that is reporting inconsistent info. They must confirm and update it within 30 days and notify you of the outcome. I would also recommend to anyone who HASN'T recently checked their bureaus to visit http://www.annualcreditreport.com and get a copy of all three majors. THIS IS A FREE SERVICE SPONSORED BY THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FACT ACT... do not confuse it with the freecreditreport.com site which carries a monthly charge. If you are not comfortable viewing your credit information online, you may call Experian @ 888 397 3742 Equifax @ 800 685 1111 and TransUnion @ 800 888 4213 Additionally for more information on the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) visit http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcra.htm and for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) visit http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/ fdcpact.htm

I have had a similiar experience with this company, and in my case, this same account was listed under 3 different names, Fingerhut credit advantage, Fingerhut, and Jefferson Capital Systems. However, on my report the current information was listed as CB&T for my current payments.(Columbus Bank & Trust) I haven't had the problems others have had with this company accept the above mentioned problem. I am currently in the process of disputing this with the cresit reporting agencies. Tamara, Ohio (USA)
