Mallorca Farmhouses Is there a Scam Buried in the Fine Print? Caversham, Reading England
Mallorca Farmhouse is a UK-based vacation rental company. Buried in the ultra fine print is that they charge cancellation fees of 80% for those conscientious enough to give notice 70 to 29 days ahead of their scheduled booking. They charge more if your plans change within less than a month of the due date. Other companies offering the same services are far more reasonable, charging 25% for cancelling.
That is not the end of the story....Very soon after mistakenly making an online booking, I called them and left a message to see about cancelling. They first processed my application and then called me back to tell me that I am subject to an 80% cancellation fee. There was not even the pretense of trying to accommodate my mistake.
The world should know about those excessive cancellation fees.
