MARCIA MOBLEY/ BAYLAKE DOODLES

DO NOT USE THIS BREEDER.  I initially began conversations with Marcia Mobley of Baylake Doodles in April 2015, hoping to pick up a puppy in June 2015.  Marcia sent me a picture of the litter and I chose a puppy, then mailed her a $500 deposit.  Unfortunately, the puppy I chose had a hereditary illness and was no longer unavailable.  Marcia let me know that there were future litters coming shortly, so we scheduled a weekend where I would drive up from Miami to Orlando to choose a new labradoodle.

Problem #1- I made clear that I wanted a mini labradoodle because I travel frequently, and she was unable to confirm that any puppy I received would be a mini.  I made clear to her that I wanted a mini so that I wouldn’t’ have to constantly board my puppy, and she was unhelpful in this regard.

Problem #2- On my visit to the house in Orlando on 6/13/15, I was greeted to a home so unhygienic that I would have never taken a puppy from her.  I was afraid to sit down because the house was filthy.

Problem #2- The day after I visited, I emailed Marcia (6/14/15), letting her know I would not be getting a puppy from her, mainly because I needed a definitive answer regarding the dog’s size.

Problem #3- I waited three months and would email her intermittently to check in, where I was given a litany of excuses: husband’s illness, travel, but I always received promises that the money was coming.  On 9/8/15, she stated that she would mail the check on 9/16/15.

Problem #4- I called Marcia on 9/23/15 because I had not yet received the check, and upon identifying myself, she became extremely belligerent.  She referred to me as a “little ************” and also insisted that if I contacted her one more time she would “take care of [me].”  I asked her what she meant by that veiled threat, and she only said that I would “find out.’

Needless to say, between her verbal assault and her threatening my safety, I would implore any prospective buyer to look elsewhere.  This person is clearly not in possession of all of her mental faculties, a fact evidenced by both her reaction to my phone call and the unkempt state of her home.

P.S. She has a terrible history of ripping people off, google “Marcia Mobley/

Heather:

I am glad to read that you had a pleasant experience with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles/ Rose. I hope all goes well with your puppy purchase; be aware, should something go wrong, they are completely unhelpful.

You are shockingly quick to make judgments about my experience with Baylake Doodles.  Let’s be clear: you don’t know the situation, you’re uninvolved, extremely biased, and sound ignorant.  Regarding Marcia Mobley supporting herself with Baylake Doodles finances, what I said was that there is a commingling of business and personal funds, which any savvy business person would regard as unadvisable.  Had the funds not be commingled, Marcia Mobley would not be in the predicament with me.

I am not one-sided, I am simply sharing my experience so that future customers can consider other options.

I’m not miserable, but I am persistent in getting what I deserve.

Finally, I want others to succeed, but never at my expense. Do yourself a favor and stick to situations in which you have a vested interest, and always try and learn all of the facts before commenting.  It’d make you sound much more intelligent in future discussions.

This is Heather and I did stop by unannounced to Ms Marcia's home on Monday.  I did not see anything out of the ordinary for a breeders home.  The dogs where in a clean environment, the driveway that I walked through to get to the home was well kept up and when brought into the home was not out of the ordinary of a home with dogs.  Seeing puppies and happy dogs have somewhat free reign of the house and not in crates was nice to see.  After being to other breeders homes, this was one of the nicer ones and meeting Ms. Rose & Ms. Marcia was a pleasant experience also! I was able to meet the mother of the puppy we are suppose to get after she delivers, god willing we'll have a happy & healthy puppy!  If we have to wait because of health reasons, we're not going to pitch a fit like some of these others that posted...

I had a very good experience with both ladies and could have sat & chatted, but I had to head off to work.  I was just placing my deposit and had time to swing by to finally meet Ms. Marcia after emailing back & forth.

Also I read in one of the complaints about Ms. Marcia doing this to support herself.  Truthfully I think I would want the breeder to be home all day playing with the dogs/puppies, then working all day at a regualar job (40+ hrs a week) and not tending to the health & well being of the dogs!!

Some people are so one sided, miserable, and don't want others to succeed!!

Dear Rose:

Perhaps you are remembering incorrectly.  You could not guarantee to me on June 14 that the litter available for me to pick from would be miniature labradoodles.  I am glad that you were eventually able to verify their size.

As stated previously, the number of satisfied customers does not invalidate my extremely negative experience with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles.  You and Marcia are both missing the point with each successive post, which is indicative of your concern for a wronged customer.  Curious that neither one of you respond to my posts regarding dissatisfaction at various points through the process.  Instead, you and Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles insist on submitting to the public every excuse, but never explain the crux of the matter.  Your lack of accountability is truly dumbfounding.

I hope that potential customers see your refusal to right an outrageous wrong as evidence of your unethical, irresponsible and disrespectful business practices.

he said these puppies where not Mini ?????? yes they where and I wanted to add that he was offered a pup from that new litter I think that after he sees all the people that habve come to lite here that he may realize that no one comes thru that door without being told truth which speaks for itself ad Marcia IS NOT A LIAR  and even though the pup he first wanted appeared to have a sigh problem, it corected itself at 3 mo old and is healthy and thriving and seeing and good- it speaks for her wisdom in not wanting to place a pup she thought and say thought had a sight problem that turned out to be not so

so Mr Peter can write all he wants and slander her all he wants oo many oters feel differently, the contract says he had opportunity to get another puppy and he himself decided not to after reading thru his statements he is the one  that is LYING and its clear by now

Response to post "Baylake Doodles is outstanding"

Dear Vicki:

Thank you for your thoughtful response.  I am sure Marcia Mobley cares for the dogs that she breeds.  My statement regarding the cleanliness of her home stands.  While you state that Marcia does not use the puppies as a source of income, that is false.  Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles commingles personal and business funds to maintain her home and lifestyle, which is why she has been unable to refund me my deposit despite the puppy upon whom I initially placed a deposit being sick.

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles emailed me on September 16, more than 3 months from my initial request, stating that she would send my returned deposit upon receipt of her retirement check.  Keep in mind, as of today, October 13, I have still not received the $500.  Tomorrow will be four months.

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles has offered to refund me half of the $500 that I put down as a deposit ($250).  Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles has given no basis as to why I will not receive the full $500, and I will not stop until I receive all of my money.   Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles sent this information to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs as a result of my filing a complaint with them.

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles also emailed me on October 6 and said that if I filed a report with Ripoff Report, I would not see a dime until I write a “paid in full” letter.  As you can imagine, this makes no sense.

I am happy that you have had 3 pleasant experiences with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles, but I have had the exact opposite, and Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles have made no attempt to make me whole despite being unable to provide me with a labradoodle to my specifications.

Have a wonderful day.

Baylake Labradoodles is Outstanding.

I have purchased 3 of Marcia's dogs at Baylake Labradoodles. I have been to her home on several occasions also. I would never consider going any place else to purchase a Doodle. I know for a fact that she cares very much about all the dogs on her premises and in her breeding program.

Her home has always been clean and she keeps all the puppies inside the home. I have never seen her home or puppy areas neglected in any way. She has gone to great lengths to create a good environment for all her dogs. They are not treated as just a source of income for her but a desire to provide another avenue of love for all dog lovers. She even does her best to place her puppies with the homes they will thrive in the best.

I would never expect a home that has a breeding program to be any more clean or sanitary than what I have seen at Marcia's. She even had us spray the shoes we were wearing with a sanitary spray before we enter the newborn puppy area. Please don't be swayed by one disgruntled person.. This really is a wonderful Breeder at Baylake Doodles. Vicki

How can you attack an unsatisfied customer when you know very little regarding the circumstances?

Dear Rose:

Thank you for your response to my complaint.  Please note that I never said I did not sit down, I said the home was maintained in a manner that I was not comfortable.  I stand by my statement.  You are correct, I did sit down and play with the pups, and I had a pleasant conversation with you.  In that same conversation, you were unsure as to the size of the available litter, which was of primary importance to me.  I made very clear to both you and Marcia that I required a miniature labradoodle, and you didn’t know if they were standards, mediums, or minis.

I don’t know how you could so boldly state that I am a “bitter individual,” as we met for a total of 35 minutes and had a lovely exchange.

Once again, you make statements that fail to get to the root of my complaint: I had a horrible customer service experience.  It does not matter how many people you have that rave about Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles, I was unsatisfied.  Not only was I unsatisfied in June, I remain unsatisfied with the difficulty it is taking to receive my full deposit back.  What do you people not understand? Reading comprehension is a necessity in our communications.

I’m trying to understand what your new buyer will be able to say about my customer service experience? About the fact that I did not receive a dog to my specifications, and the fact that I am within my legal rights as a consumer?

Again, the comprehension level at Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles is appallingly low. No one is saying that everyone at Baylake Doodles/ Marcia Mobley is a bad person, or that you all don’t breed cute labradoodles.  My complaint is that (a) you were unable to guarantee the size of my dog, (b) communication with your organization leads much to be desired, (c) I requested a refund, which is an option in the agreement if one decides to not wait for the next litter, (d) I found the home to be not to my standards of cleanliness, and (e) Marcia Mobley called me an explitive and threatened me over the phone.

Thanks for your time.

I have known Marcia for last 6 years I own two of her dogs, I help her in the house 5 days week and have never not cleaned or taken care of here place, we have secuity cameras for who enters and leaves and this man Peter was not aware we have him on the camera entering, sitting down, thanking me and more playing with the pups so he is way out of line in his comments and seems to be a very bitter individual  and its a shame.  The day he came the house was spotless and I can prove that on camera, he lied and made it seem it was not so, she lives out in country and its important to know who comes and goes . Matter the Mayor of Orange County comes here alot to see her and has bought 2 dogs from her, other breeders come here and rave abot her set up, if this man smelled a puppy that just pooped he has a real problem understand that they do take a a poop often, however when he came in the home the house was just cleaned as it is everyday I take offense to him insulting my ability as Marcia would never have me here all these yrs if I did something wrong.  THIS MORNING A NEW BUYER CAME OVER AND JUST LEFT FEW MINUTES AGO, AS I WAS WRITING THIS REBUTTAL SHE WANTS TO ADD HER NAME AND REBUTTAL ALSO HER NAME IS HEATHER you will see her post too  Remember security camerax's do not lie.

Direct Response to Marcia Mobley:

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles is correct, I signed a binding legal document that said if I were unable to receive the dog I initially paid for, that I would have the first pick of the next available letter.  The contract further states that if no dogs are satisfactory, then a refund is processed.  As I previously stated, upon Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodle’s inability to guarantee that I would receive a mini labradoodle, I decided that I did not want to continue in business with her.  My reaction was partially because of the inability to meet my requirements, and partially because of the unprofessional manner in which Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles does business (unprompt response to emails, unkempt home, etc).

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles has mentioned that she mailed ten references to the State of Florida regarding happy customers.  What is shocking is her refusal to acknowledge that many customers are unhappy with her services (as evidenced by a search on this website).  I am a customer that had a negative experience, and she has done nothing to attempt to rectify the situation.

Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles has given me a litany of excuses as to why she was unable to return my deposit, but the reality remains that I have sought this refund since June 14, 2015.  Four months later, and she is upset that I have taken public action.  The past four months have seen me email her frequently, and I barely got responses.  It was not until public action was taken here and with the FL Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services that she made an effort to remedy this experience.

Upon receipt of my FULL refund, I will update this post to show Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles has done their part to right their egregious wrong.  Until then, I will continue to do my part in spreading the truth about this unethical business.

Irrelevant facts do not negate a customer's negative experience

Dear B. Allen:

Thank you for your rebuttal to my post documenting my still-unresolved incident with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles.  While it was very difficult to read due to the shocking lack of punctuation and frequent misspellings, I was finally able to ascertain the points you were making.

1)    The home was in fact not tidy; I have no reason to attempt to malign Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles.  Perhaps they should use their money to invest in a full-time cleaning person as well as fragrance sprays.

2)    You are correct, the contact is plain and spelled out; if they’re unable to provide you with a dog, you get the first pick of the next available litter.  What happened in my case was that the next available litter(s) were not mini labradoodles, which I made a condition precedent to my purchasing the puppy.  Instead, I could only be guaranteed medium and standard labradoodles.  The differences in sizes of the available puppies to my preferred puppy was simply too great for the $2,200 cost.  As I’m sure you can imagine, if I were going to spend that much money, I would want all of my preferences to be realized. Marcia Mobley agreed and I was promised a refund in June of 2015.  It is now October and I remain unpaid.

3)    While I am sure Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles donates dogs to children with disabilities and various organizations, your point is a non-sequitur.  The topic of this post is my unpleasant experience with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles.

4)    No matter how many people have had pleasant experiences with Marcia Mobley/ Baylake Doodles, this post is about my very unpleasant experience.  I am shocked that you’re not able to understand my position. The reality is, though, that you are speaking on something you know nothing about.

5)    Perhaps it’d be easier to follow your chain of thought if you had periods separating your sentences.  Grammar is of extreme importance in modern communication.

I have known Ms Mobley for 14 yrs I have 2 of her Labradoodles, her home is always tidy and clean, it is a very nice place she keeps. she has never been these things that this man is claiming her to be, her contract is plain and spelled out, sounds to me this man is making up a story to try hard to discredit her, I know for fact that she would never threathen anyone, Marcia has donated dogs to children with disabilities, she has also heavily involved in different organizations to donate dogs for good causes,  Its a shame that someone has to embellish a story to get attention and cause harm  her, I know her references speak volumnes and her reputation is a fine one, I think that many people will come forward and tell you the same thing I am writing and I hope anyone that is in business knows we have disgrundled customers and its clear this is case, I am licensed Veternarian and have had some strange people walk thru my door with unfounded comments also, so I realize it goes with the territory being in business but this cclaim is totally false and she has many people  around the United States that would certainly back her up.  I find this absolutely ridiculous ! #13REBUTTAL Individual responds

Sun, October 11, 2015

Too many people know  that we are never unfair and Mr Peter Davidson was told upfront there are no Refunds on deposits HE SIGNED A LEGAL BINDING CONTRACT IN APRIL 2015 STATING NO REFUNDS, NOW HE WANTS ONE , Most all breeders we know and associate with have same contracts we do, Mr Davidson was offered another pick of litter from next dam, he made excuses and then began trying to trash our reputation , we also mailed 10 references letters to State of FLa from our customers about our home and house always being nice and clean and his finger pointing has no merit, we work hard to have nice place for our pup and us, there is copy of letter sent to Mr Davidson today as he knew I was not avail for 2 months due to my husbands cancer surgery Too many people such as both Mayors in Orlando, lawyers and Doctors and degnified customers have walked in our home and loved our place and the Pups

We mailed a check to Mr Davidson for a REFUND againsty my better judgement as he claimed we where dirty and he could not sit down, where I have lttter thanking him for coming and we had 3 witness saying that he sat down and played with the puppies

WE CAN DEFEND OUR POSITION ON NO REFUNDS, BUT IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE  You can not please everyone and this seems to be the case Marcia Mobley
