Marc's Home Improvement AKA Marc Rossworn AKA Damian Rossworn AKA Mark Rossworn AKA Mac Rossworn Misrepresented as professional, bonded, licensed/insured- REFUSED TO HONOR GUARANTEE, WOULD NOT PRODUCE RECEIPTS OR RETURN TO FINISH JOB. PORTAGE Indiana
Marc Rossworn was hired to do remodeling in our home. He presented a card stating he was licensed, bonded and insured. He guaranteed his work for two years from date of service. His workers did painting, installation of new subfloors and floors, installation of new toilets and a shower, installation of a garage door opener and some other small jobs.
He replaced a subfloor in the kitchen, which needed to be replaced within six months since the new dishwasher had been installed incorrectly by his firm and it had leaked into the new subfloor which was destroyed by water. The new tiles we had placed were ruined because they repeatedly had been placed, replaced, one time the worker nailed one of the interlocking tiles in and numerous expensive tiles were ruined. The garage door worked for seven months and stopped. The bathroom floor which he had replaced began to sink in since no new joists were placed. The driveway was stained because one of the workers vehicles was leaking oil. We paid for the supplied separately and were told that receipts for each product would be given to us at the completion of the job. We NEVER got one receipt...we were told they were lost somewhere. Thus, we had no guarantee for our new garage door opener when it broke.
When Marc was contacted about the above iessues, he REFUSED ADAMANTLY to honor the guarantee on the contract. He refused to give us the receipts he promised us. We found out too late that he was NOT bonded, licensed OR insured at all...just a scammer representing himself to be a professional with years of experience and what I think is a shady past.
We were taken so badly by this man and he had absolutely NO remorse at all and told us he would need money to fix the items which failed within months of the job completion. He refused to take our calls at one point and since he moves about every three to four months, it is a task finding him.
We live in the Portage, Indiana area and do not want any other consumer to be taken by this man. His word means nothing. He loves to talk and talk. He befriends you and has the "gift of gab", which unfortunately and stupidly on our parts, we fell for - never thinking that he was lying from the moment we met him. He repeatedly claimed to be associated with the owner of another local and very reputable home improvement business, Rossi Construction, and spent much time "warning" us NOT to use Rossi. We have seen some of their completed work and it was extremely nice in each case. I think this was just another lie he told us to make us thaink he had professional remodeling experience.
Many days the workers did not show up at all, or would show up at noon and work until 3PM, which made a two week job turn into a TWO MONTH job! My husband was ill and I am disabled and I feel Marc was not considerate of these facts and could have cared less, taking his time to complete the job at his own pace even though we expressed urgency to get it completed. Some days my husband had to drive the workers home. One day we had to give one some gas money so he could drive home since he said Marc had not paid him in weeks so he could not come to work the next day due to no money for transportation. Some days workers would leave to get supplies or lunch and they would not return.
As you can see, working with Marc's Home Improvement was a nightmare! I warn anyone who considers working with this man to do their research..do it twice..you have been warned by a very scammed consumer.
