MarginMart Inc Stiffed Me on Refund of Defective Product Berkeley, California
MarginMart Inc sells many computer related items on Amazon.com. I ordered a DVI to DVI cable on July 12, 2012 for $7.87. I received it a few days later and it was defective. I could only communicate with MarginMart through Amazon.com's email forwarding process. On July 17 I sent notice through Amazon.com and received an RMA the same day.
Along with the RMA, MarginMart wrote: "Margin Mart is not liable for packages that are lost in transit. It is highly recommended that you use a traceable shipping, while returning the item." I wrote back that the cost of shipping the item that way would be prohibitive and would MarginMart pay for the return shipping.
I received the following reply: "At this point of time you need to send this item back to us and as soon as we'll receive this item back, we'll apply the credit back to your account with the additional shipping cost." This turned out to be a lie. I have received the refund of the purchase price but my continued requests for reimbursement of the $5.18 shipping costs have been ignored since July 31.
MarginMart does not provide any phone contact through Amazon.com or on its website.
