My family arrived in New York City at the pictured rental from the site homeaway. It was supposed to be a beautiful rental newly renovated in upper Manhattan- We were told that the greater would meet us at the property. I had text conversations with the greater the day of travel and up to the minute of our arrival. When we did arrive at the rental we were greeted by a woman named Pilar are and she met us outside telling us we could not stay at the property because it was a roach infested. She claimed that the exterminator was supposed to be there the day prior but never showed up.She proceeded to call the owner of the property who said they would take us to another rental they had that was comparable in the area and put us in an Uber with four children to the other property. When we arrived the place was falling apart completely it was nothing like the apartment that we had paid for! It was awful! small, dirty, moldy- and unfit for a family of 6! I realize now that we were scammed, they do this to families and they will not refund our money.
