Markes Customs L.L.C Joe Markes - Delays, Did Not Show Up, Did Not Return Deposit - Centennial, Colorado
We decided to have hardwood floors installed on the main floor of our home. Joe Markes approached me at the hardwood flooring store and said his company could handle the job, and we decided to work with Markes Customs L.L.C
Before we signed the contract Joe was always on time and communicated well. However, as soon as we signed the contract and put money down for the deposit and base boards, things began to go downhill.
Markes Customs was supposed to pick up and deliver the wood from the store to our home on a Monday. On that Monday morning they asked if we could delay it until the next day. On Tuesday they were over an hour late to the store, and they did not bring the truck needed to pick up the wood but said they would deliver it on Wednesday. I received another call on Wednesday asking if they could deliver it Thursday. On Thursday I received a call asking if they could deliver it Friday, nearly a week after the initial scheduled date. They finally delivered the wood on Friday but were over an hour late again.
Work was scheduled to begin on the following Monday at 8 am. Unfortunately, nobody showed up and we could not get a hold of anyone to find out why.
After all of these problems we decided not to begin work with Markes Customs. We called to inform them of this, and to ask for our money back for the deposit and base board that we never received. Furthermore, after having multiple companies come in after Markes Customs to bid on the job, we found out that Markes Customs had us purchase over $900 of unneeded material.
It has been two and a half weeks and we have still not received our money back from Markes Customs. I have had to constantly contact Markes Customs to find out why we have not had our money returned and when we may expect it. They have continued to tell me they would meet me and then they don't show up, and they said they sent a check that has not arrived.
Save yourself time, money, and stress and DO NOT work with Markes Customs.
