I visited marlos 8/16/2017 ordered sofa and chair. Woman made 2 copies of my drivers license and I told her I was uncomfortable with that so manager told her to destoy them I took them and asked her if the copy machine made a copy and she said no. I told them not to deliver floor models to me. As I left the woman shouted out "Gog bless you" I started to ask her was she referring to the God of Abraham, Issac And Jacob, the Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ ; but I sensed she needed her job so I let it go. I asked about the contract and inquired as to whether it was generic due to the wording and representative stated it was. When I asked the sales person to measure he measured another item in a different color so I let it go since he told me the color I ordered was one half inch shorter which made no sense. Then he tried to sell me a matteress and I responded I don't need one and he stated "Well we have to say that". I walked away.
I returned the next day he wasn't there so another sales person measured with a faded dirty tape measure and measured wrong. I went on line obtained item numbers and took them to store and gave to Manager and he stated it is same furniture but they had different numbers so I took him at his word and ordered a loveseat to match sofa and chair. Again he tried to sell me insurance and I declined yet when I arrived home I noticed he had not checked the decline box so I called store and left msg. that I do not want insurance. They said it would take 10 business days for check to clear so I thought ok no problem. The 8th of September two men delivered furn. Here is what happened, one kept trying to get me to accept it boxed up and covered in plastic I told him bring it up and unbox it so I could check it out and he kept saying you can call the store if anything is wrong I refused and when they unboxed the loveseat it was defective then the chair and sofa were the wrong color. I believe in my heart the delivery men knew that the order was wrong but they had to carry the scheme to fruition and hopefully have it work. I spoke to a supervisor and she tried to convince me it was not defective and that the puckering of one side would eventually smooth out. I sent it back and was told they would reorder and deliver next week. She had the gall to ask me to get the item number and give to her and I told her merchandise was on its way back to her. I stated I waited all day for this and I was not happy. I told her either refund my money or send me the correct color and void of defects. I told her do not deliver anymore defective furniture to me and if that is not possible just refund me my money. So what I intend to do is go on-line and fill out a form with consumer protection and the attorney General. I am not sure what you all think but I believe there is something going on that we can't see I just have this feeling.
I will join a class action suit with you all. I think all of us should go to Consumer Protection site and Attorney General fill out on-line forms and let them get the ball rolling. I wish I had done my homework. I believe they are selling the insurance policies to cover theirselves knowing the furniture is defective and/or knowing how insurance policies work and that Americans don't take the time to read and understand one policy covers one portion and one has to buy another to cover other portions of furniture. Those two men really thought I was going to go along with them and allow them to leave that furniture with me and believe I would have recourse. Honestly I had to laugh at it. I did tip them because I felt they must have been down and out to have to go along with the scam scheme. I hope you get this email. I wish I had read the reviews and this is actually the first time I didn't. SHAME ON ME!
