Mastermark Aka Rhino Deck won't stand behind their defective product. Ripoff! Albany Minnesota
We recommend NO ONE buy this product. You will be highly disatisfied. Mastermark will not stand behind their product. We built a new home with our deck made from an alternative wood filled product called Rhino Deck. Within a short period of time after installation we began to have a "spotting" problem.

We called the company and originally they said they had similar problems with the "old" product. It was supposed to be a tanin problem and they would investigate it to see if it needed to be replaced. We got so far as to have them ask for our original receipts. A representative came out to look and agreed there was a problem.
After no communication for a few weeks, we called and left a message. A few days later we got a letter telling us it was a mold problem especially in wet areas. Note: only specific boards are spotting which leads us to believe it is not simply mold. They told us to use a mold reducing product called Valspar, which we agreed to try. Within days the problem returned.
We phoned again and again they sent reps out to clean the deck. They only did a small section, and tried to say we must not have cleaned it correctly. Again, within days after their cleaning, the spotting was back worse than ever. We have taken pictures, and have notified everyone.
Mastermark still states it's just mold and will not assist us further. For what they claim to be a virtually maintence free product, that is more costly than other products, this deck material is ugly and inferior. We could keep the spots off, if we power washed it once a week but obviously that is not an option.
