POOR PRODUCT. Great lesson learned from my experience working with Masterplans. That lesson is to not be so trusting. Not knowing what's supposed to be included on a business plan, I trusted their expertise and accepted what was written. I didn't realize how poorly written my plan was until I took it to three investors. They said that my valuation calculations were "unrealistic" and my plan didnt seem to be complete. There were a few sections that should have been included that were not. In the end, I realized the business plan seemed more like a college paper and not a serious document for raising funds. This is just a small part of my Poor product complaint.
POOR SERVICE. The service I received was BAD. I did not complain during the time my business plan was being written because I do not like to be rude. Instead, I approached that situation by making sure I was on top of things. I was actually expecting them to ask all the questions and not the other way around. Here's an example: I did not understand what some excel financial tables were for so I asked for Paige's (my representative) consultation so that I may understand and she was not helpful at all.
So I decided to figure it out myself and asked her, "Is there anything that I should know before editing the financials" She said no. This is all recorded in email. Come to find out, there were cells that I was not supposed to alter and some tables that did not even apply to me. I had to go back and fix everything which was really time consuming. She only mentioned this after 5 emails of me asking about the different tables and their purposes in that sheet. The communication was very bad.
RESOLUTION: Bryan Howe (The owner) suggested twice that he wanted to speak to the investors who told me my business plan outline SUCKED. In return he would make corrections. I told him that it would be nice to get more feedback from the investors I met with but I am uncomfortable giving their information. Especially since the meeting didnt go well at all.
TIPS: Make sure the person you work with seems interested in your company and is asking you questions and not the other way around.
