Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We attended a highly pressure sales presentation at Mayan Palace, Cancun Mexico on October 5, 2013.  The salesman, Adrian, who also disclosed that he is one of the lawyers of the company, intentionally told us that we have 30 days to cancel.  They also did not give us the documents we signed and held them until the 5 days had passed.  We were not even aware of the 5 day cancellation period until customer service rep told us about it when she called on October 28. They sent the documents by mail through DHL and we received them on October 16, 2013 which proved that they intentionally defrauded us.

It was a pressure selling.  The 90 min became a 5 hour presentation.  They asked for my credit card. I told them that I don't enough funds, but they charged it anyway, one for $2,000 and another for $500.  I disputed it with my credit card company.  The Mayan Palace representative contacted me today and said that I cannot cancel because the 5 day cancellation period already expired.  I told him that the sales rep told me and my husband during the presentation that the cancellation period is 30 days with our credit card company.

Transaction date was 10/5/13 and I called their Customer Service on 10/21/13 to cancel.  We were not told about the 5 day cancellation period and at that time we were still in Mexico.  We did not have time to read the fine prints of the contract during the presentation.  We were not given a chance to review the papers we signed because they refused to give them to us saying that it's their policy to send it in the mail for our convenience so we won't have a lot to carry with our luggages.  What a perfect example of fraud!

The sales rep knowingly that we won't qualify still insisted that we try to apply for a loan with the Interval International but we got declined.  He tried our credit cards for several authorizations until he got approval.  This is a perfect example of high pressure sale tactics and fraud.

In my opinion this is a nice resort, unfortunately they are liars and thieves. You have to stay away from them and their

timeshare presentations, don't make the mistake to go just waiting for free stuff!!

Be careful! I was scammed too, 2 years ago, and it's been a nightmare for me. I was reading some articles about this

fraudulent resort and they really helped me to understand a few more things.

Take a look at these, maybe you found something of help:

Don't give up on communicating to others what this people is really doing, we cannot let them to keep robbing people.

Good luck!

I am happy to report that Mayan Palace has made a settlement to cancel our contract and to refund me my deposit within 15 days after receipt of the Settlement and Release of the contract.

I'm, therefore, retracting all past negative comments and activity.  My complaint has been satisfactorily resolved.  Thank you.

The resort itself seems very nice, the sales pitch, however, is pure high-pressure sales. The sales people are snakes, their only motive is greed. They have no concern for what is ethical and will “brow beat” you to make their money. It was not worth the free breakfast and $50.00 dinner coupon. When I finally got up to walk away from the table, Luis got in my face and began to argue with me, telling me I couldn’t leave until he said the presentation was over. I continued to walk away as I raised my voice at him. You would think that that would be the end of it, but they will continue to pass you to the next person for a “survey” which turns into another sales pitch…these people are shameless. If you agree to attend the 90 minute presentation you will regret it.Search online for Mayan Palace Timeshare Scams for other “horror stories”.
