Mazda Mzda RX 8 ripoff Irvine California
Buy beware!!!
I've owned several sports cars and have driven each well over 100K and some past 200K miles. I purchased a 2004 RX8 and have owned it for a year. In a year I've had the transmission replaced, air conditioning, heating unit, radio, door seals, trunk latch, catalic converter, rims, brakes, starters, batteries, and plugs. I haven't even driven it past 33,000 miles. This car is in the garage et least every 3 to 4 weeks for something. It's over priced and the quality is not there. I think Mazda plans on making money on this car after the warranty is out with their parts.
It looks like the transmissions will need to be repalced every 30000 miles. It needs plugs every 7-8000 miles. Needs a new starter and battery around the same time. The catalic converter needs replaced every 33,000 miles. OEM Rims crack under normal driving conditions which are not covered,a s they claim it is wear and tear. The leather seats rip easily, so they must be using cheap leather. It has faulty wiring in the dash which results in short ciruiting the air conditioning and heat units controls. Mazda apparently gets away with all this, because they post Technical bulletins. Why can't the consumer see these Technical bulletings prior to buying, oh wait maybe its beaucase they wouldn't pay 30,000+ for the car if they were totoally informed.
