MBNA Ripoff when you close your account. Wilmington Delaware
I had closed my account with MBNA several months ago. I recieved a note from them stating that they were going to close my account. I recieved some statement and found that they had still been charging me interest for the account. I called them and they said that the interest was because I closed my account on the 30th and that I had interest due from the 15th to the 30th.
Isn't it funny how I closed my account with fleet at the same time I did the MBNA account and they didn't charge me anything. Well I sent a statement with the correspondance saying that they were wrong and never said anything in the letter about the interest being due. I called the next time and the CSR that answered the phone was very rude and said that I had to pay it.
I asked about the dispute I had sent them and they said they recieved it and that it would be mailed. The CSR lied because I never recieved the note about the dispute I filed with them. Needless to say I had paid it and my credit record doesn't look so hot now. I would recommend that people who are thinking of getting a line of credit with them rethink that idea because in the end they will stick it to you.
