Above is totaly untrue. Eastern lift and and other forklift companys are in the bussiness of over charging customers and performing shady deals. service work is crap and dealer of the year awards are a joke. they mean nothing to the customers. bussiness are getting ripped off by large forklift companys on a daily basis, most companys dont have a clue what the tech is doing or if they are causing more damage and then charging customers for there mistakes. used equipment is not safe in most cases and new paint makes them look like they have been rebuilt in fact they are just covering up crappy equipment that has been worn out and not safe. this cost the average bussiness thousands in repair cost and down time. Buyer BEWARE. best advise is to get several estimates on any work needed and question all pricing. forklift company have no problem over charging customers and they feel you have no other choice. If your paying more than 75$ hour for service work then your paying too much. NO Forklift repair is worth $100+ per hour. customers need to watch what the mechanis is doing. shop around for parts or purchase them yourself most times you can find them for half the price on line. also just another warning hour meters can be changed to look like machines have lower hours than they really have. its just like they did on older cars and is still done on forklifts.

My name is Mike Edmonds and I am the Marketing Manager for Eastern Lift Truck Co., Inc. I'd like to respond to the fact that our company was named in a RipOff Report 8 years ago. Yes, I am responding to a post from 8 years ago.
Nowhere in this old post, does it actually mention a customer service issue with our company. We were merely mentioned as the former employer of a service technician who, after being let go from our company, joined a competitive material handling company. It was the other company, our competitor, who was actually named in the complaint (report).
I have no interest in discussing the merits of that complaint. But I do want the readers of RipOffReport to understand the collateral damage these posts can cause to businesses, their owners and employees, even 8 years later.
This 8 year old report, which has nothing to do with our company, negatively influences anyone who uses Bing for search. As one begins to type our company name in Bing, an auto search link to this site (which is promoted very heavily) pops up and the inference is that we ARE a RipOff. Just having people see that auto search link is damaging to our reputation. We've no doubt, lost countless business as a result. Neither RipOffReport or Bing care about this or offer to make any changes.
While we're all for free-speech, RipOff Report makes it very challenging, if not impossible to have these posts contested or modified. They want to charge us a fee (which verges on extortion) or they suggest we attempt a lawsuit. We see that many people have sued RipOffReports and there is a strong movement to have this site shut down.
Please know the truth about our company: we've been in business since 1971 and named a Dealer of Excellence 15 of the past 16 years. The Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association has awarded us their prestigious MVP award each of the past two years. We value honesty and integrity. Our Founder built up our comany's reputation by providing excellent customer service. We train and re-train our people on customer care so we never lose our edge. We believe in honest feedback and resolving complaints face to face and not through some third party website.
In closing, I ask the managers orf the RipOffReport website to please consider removing this entire post -- it's now 8 years old and serves no purpose.

I wonder if the service Mgr with so many friggin years of experence has a clue that more than half of his employees are dope smokers. I am willing to bet that even the MGR smokes dope. no employee is ever tested at McCalls. Now these are the folks that are working on your equipment and quoting you prices that are in outer space. Joe Karasak has a habit of running his mouth about employees he knows nothing about. Joe is the reason McCalls bussiness is failing and customers are going elsewhere. I am employed and always have been, I dont kiss anyones a*s to keep my job. My work is top notch and iam a top performer in my company. I do not have rework. And i challange Joe to prove otherwise. HE CANT! I knew McCalls was a joke of a company to work for when they offered me three weeks vacation without having been there for any period of time. They were just trying to get anyone to work for them. I know better now. the employees at McCalls are now being forced to be sales people too cause bussiness is so bad for them/ I feel sorry for anyone that works there. Joes experence is not that of a manager but a salesman. i saw through his bullshit. funny his customers have followed me to my current employer. cant wait to read what the loser writes next. Ask them when was the last time someone was drug tested at McCalls. i know i wouldnt want some dope smoker worker working on my equipment.

In my 20 years as a supervisor in the lift truck field, this guy is the best BS mechanic artist that i know. 1st off Eastern Lift truck hired this guy from California and paid his expenses becuase he was a so called TRAINER. Then when he cant cut the mustard and they put him on the road in HAGERSTOWN. When Eastern finally had enough of his tech non-expertise, he weasled his way into McCall's by lying on his resume and past experience. I quickly figured out that he was going to cause severe damage to one of our customers or their equipment and had to let him go. The only thing McCall is guilty of is being swindled by this guy. Then he goes to 4 more comapnies in 2 years. Talk about a ripoff. McCall Handling has been in business since 1948 and continues to grow it's customer base every year. Steven should worry about better training himself in the lift truck field before he points fingers. Be careful of disgruntled ex employees, opinions can be one sided.
