I cancelled a previous phone when it was stolen one year ago this December.When I went to get a new phone, Worldcom issued a new account for me without closing out the account for the stolen phone. As my bills are paid through my controller in my office, I was not aware that she was not only paying for service on an inactive phone, but paying for use of the new phone as well. As you can imagine, the payments were put in the two accounts under my name, and then I began getting letters for nonpayment under the supposed inactive account.

I spent countless hours on the phone with them trying to fix the situation. Every time you call you get another rep, and have to start from the beginning. After I was promised the old account was closed and all the payments for the past year credited to my existing account, I thought the issue was resolved. WRONG!!!

I went to get a new phone, using the same number in September, and was told the phone could not be turned on as I had outstanding payments due to Worldcom. on the account. I knew this had to to due to the previous mix up, but once again spent weeks trying to resolve it. When you call, a recording tells you of the "unusual high volume of calls and to try your call again later"!!! This went on for two weeks!!!

When I finally got through to a human, I was again promised that my phone would be reactivated in a speedy, emergency manner as the fault was all theirs!! i still have no phone and i am sure i am getting billed!
