I took my Class A motor home to McMahon's RV in Westminster, Ca to have a defective hydraulic line replaced. I had already contacted Forest River, who was the maker of my RV and received prior approval for warranty work. I had attempted to contact McMahon's RV through their on-line appointment service one time before and never got a return call back to make the appointment. I didn't go that time. This time I used their on-line appointment service again and was told the same, that a service advisor would call me. I waited two days and finally called several times to get an appointment. I should have known from this experience not to go to McMahon's RV.

On January 14, 2014, I took my RV to McMahon's RV and contacted Emilio Valdez, my Service Advisor. I had brought the part number and all information regarding my contact at Forest River including the name and phone number of the person authorizing the repair work. I told the service advisor that the hose had been cut and wrapped under the motor home since it had burst and was making a mess on my driveway.

When I received my copy of the workorder, I was told it would take approximately one day to talk to Forest River and order the part and one week to receive it. It would then take one to two days to install the hose. I asked Mr. Valdez to keep me informed and he said he would. When I received the workorder I noticed that he had written that the hose was located inside one of the compartments. This was another clue that what I was saying was not being listened to.

After a week passed, I called Mr. Valdez and asked regarding the progress on my RV and was told everything was on track. The part had been ordered. I asked Mr. Valdez to call me at least once a week to inform me of the progress. I also made him aware that I had missed one camping trip because of this and another was coming up. After two weeks passed, I called Mr. Valdez again and he told me no part was there yet. After three weeks passed I again called Mr. Valdez because he didn't call me and was told the part was not there. After another few days passed my wife called our Service Advisor, Mr. Valdez because I didn't want to talk to him. Mr. Valdez told my wife that he would notify her/me when the part came in and it wasn't necessary to call him. He was rude and it seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. He promised my wife that he would call as soon as the hose came in.

I contacted Forest River that day and was told the hose hadn't been ordered. It should be noted that whenever we called and attempted to get Mr. Valdez that we would always get a voice mail saying he would call right back. It would take the next day before we would get contacted. After contacting Forest River, I tried several times to get Mr. Valdez on the phone. Fortunetely, I happened to get a different Service Advisor, Mr. Keven Loza. Mr. Loza took the time to find out what was going on. He called me back and advised me that the part had been ordered from Lippert. Mr. Loza also told me the hose had the wrong fitting on it and they were waiting for the hoseman to arrive and fix the hose. I told Mr. Loza how unhappy I was with Mr. Valdez and how Mr. Valdez promised to call me or my wife back and never did. Mr. Loza explained that he was very familiar with Mr. Valdez. I guess I don't need to explain that any further, do I?

The next day Mr. Valdez called me and told me the RV was ready. This was over a month later.

After getting the RV home, I crawled underneath to install some wiring. I observed that the sealing material (silicone) in two locations where tubes from the water tank came out of the storage compartments had been removed and not resealed. I also saw that the water tank door had been put on inside out and the staples were put on inside out. Underneath, the new hydraulic hose was not routed in the stock location through the hose/wiring loom. It was run in and out of the frame and not in the proper location. Overall, this was one of the worst quality jobsI have ever seen and now I will have to fix the problems. I certainly would never take my RV back to this place. The only good thing about this place is Mr. Keven Loza.

My recommendation to anyone buying or getting an RV serviced is not to go to McMahon's RV
