This person is a Veteran, Homless, and was railroaded by his supervisors! This man went to work sick and when he was given a note to see a foot doctor to take care of blood poisoning from ingrown tonails  that were caused by his shoes that were mandantory to wear. on April 11, 2008 at the request of his doctor and wife he went to the podiatrist on that date and he was so afraid of being fired because he was verbally warned that even with a doctor note it would be grounds to fire him. He was not liked by his supervisor and upon asking twice to take vacation time off twice he was denied because the supvisor came up with a verbal agreement that only applied to Sanford that he had to give a weeks notice to get a vacation day off while other asked and was granted vacation days less than one week. 



After Sanford almost died, the vacation requests were posted in writing calling it the Sanford Goodwin law!  We have been told by a person who listened to my story that we have a case, it needs to be sent to the proper lawer who understands the misrepresentation of this horrific cost to him. he lost his job, home and in impoverishid.  The company tried to fire him on 4/11/09 stating he took a vacation day off without proper authorization, I was present when Sanford called in and told the person in charge of answering call ins, that he had an emergency proceedure and the doctor stated he had to be off his foot for 24 hours and it is a requirement that Sanford wear his safety shoes at all times when working and when Sanford asked if he could still work with putting on the work shoe, the doctor explained that there was too much cause for infection to set in and due to his foot being numb, he could bump it and cause further injury. 



He was put on antibiotics immediately and that is believed the be the culpret of the acute pancreatitis he got on 04/27/09 and because he was afraid of being fired again, he suffered for three hours and clocked into work and tried to work for 45 minutes when he finally called 911, the supvisors thought Sanford was playing around when 911 was treating him because of the guilt they felt for trying to fire him and lying about their intentions! The supervisors even laughed at Sanford as he was being taken away even while Sanford could see the scare in the face of the parametic. Sanford was put immediately in ICU Transatory Surgery immeiately and I explained to the Doctor how he suffered for 3 hours before coming because he was afraid of being fired again! This action almost cost him his life and now he has no pancreas, if he had come immediately upon the onset, his pancreas could have been saved! He almost died and the doctors prepared me 3 times to accept his death. He was only 46! Now the kindness of some one helps him have a place to lay on a floor to sleep until he can get help to get income to get a place to live, and has requested his DD214, he has applied for SSDI and also ACHESS. 




 Please consider him carefully becasue he was given a 5% chance to survive and his weight went down to 115 lbs from 206 lbs.  His kidneys shut down due to septic shock from his work not allowing him to take the time off before emergency surgery had to be performed because of blood poisioning from his work shoes he was required to wear.  The work place tried to fire him for having the emergency proceedure and put him on 2 weeks without pay and probation with his first due date back on the date of onset, he suffered for 3 hours  just to get to work and clock in so he would not be fired! this cost him his pancreas. We are looking for justice. Please help.



This is only the tip of the iceberg, we have serious issues with the workplace changing issues at will to try and find ways to fire employees they do not like, Sanford almost died trying to bend over backwards to obeying thier requirements, he was denied backpay he deserved, put on 90 day probation because his doctor did not fill out the FMLA fast enough and tried to fire him for having an emergency porceedure and ingnorant of blood posioning.



He also has issue with Banner Desert Hospital that gave him C-dif and mersa, He holds the only case that can not be explained away except for a heathprovider who did not take proper cautions before touching him to give him another life threatening disease that stays with him today.  The hospital has closed his files and will not release them to him without funds he does not have so that a lawyer can investigate this travisty that could occur with any loved one who needs to be in the hospital.



We have had one lawyer take our last funds to take care of another travisty caused by an auto repair company, we have a judgement but because the lawyer knows we no longer can pay his high fees, we can not get any more help from him.



We are homeless, disabled, one in a wheelchair and can hardly breathe and because I am under medicare and medicaid, I can not find a lung doctor and take the high risk of more TIA's or mini-strokes.



Please Help, even it is just for one of our issues.
