Due to the investigation of the agencies that complaints were sent to regarding Medright, Inc. they have since changed there website and Student Handbook not to include the use of artificial hands and arms due to the fact that they were NOT offered for use to the students and was misleading to say the least. Why would they do that if not advised to do so?
These were not libelous nor slanderous accusations by a single disgruntled student. The complaints were filed on behalf of MANY students who collectively presented evidence to confirm the allegations and it resulted in Medright, Inc. changing their advertising and handbook.
To clarify the supposed financial award, it was simply that a tuition amount that was returned to a student by their credit card company, was awarded back to Medright, Inc. due to the fact that a contract was signed and the judge upheld the contract.
It was decided in small claims court and it was not the venue where the judge would consider any false advertising claim. The fact is Medright, Inc. sued said student for $3,000.00 and was only awarded the tuition amount returned. The rest was dismissed! If these were indeed slanderous or libelous why was the addtional amount dismissed?
That contract situation is part of the problem. Once 3 days have passed after the contract is signed you cannot and will not get your money back.
As stated in previous complaints 3 days does NOT give the student a chance to understand what they have gotten into at which time they are left no recourse.
I would STILL strongly advise ANY potential student to ask questions and get a copy of the Student Handbook PRIOR to paying their tuition. The website STILL states that students will do their
internship at Medright, Inc.'s contracted facilities, however, the FACT once again, is that only the top 5 students in the class will be sent to a "contracted facility" and the rest of them will have to bring in their own family or friends to the Medright, Inc. lab room to complete the required successful 100 blood draws.(It is very difficult to arrange for that many people that you will need to allow you to "practice" drawing their blood) Please get this confirmed BEFORE you commit to the program.
Medright, Inc. has remained under the radar for many years and are VERY good at presenting the facade of a quality program. It is imperative that you investigate. Go to the school when one of the classes are in progress and catch some of the students on their way out and ask what they feel about the program. They will share with you the actual details and their experiences. Do not just ask for references from the school.
I can not stress enough that IF you choose Medright, Inc. for their Phlebotomy program that you make absolutely sure that you know what you are getting into.

Several very serious false and libelous allegations were made by a disgruntled student which prompted a very thorough investigation of Medright, Inc.s policies and procedures. This investigation by the Attorney Generals Office, Michigan Proprietary Schools, our accrediting agency, NAACLS and Michigans Department of Environmental Waste was a lengthy process and the complaints against Medright were ultimately found to have no merit and were dismissed as unfounded. Once these false and libelous complaints against Medright were dismissed, legal action was taken against this individual with a monetary judgment in Medrights favor as the outcome.
Medright continues to produce highly desirable and skilled graduates that are well prepared for their careers in the healthcare industry, as evident by our reputation with the leading hospitals and medical facilities in the metro area.
Medright, Inc.s programs are designed to prepare students for responsibilities that come with being an integral part of the healthcare team. Well, Medright, Inc. is continuing to show a complete lack of integrity and character in their response to the investigation by the Michigan Proprietary School Board.
The program director, Mrs Lucas actually sent a picture of herself sitting in a classroom, at a table with an array of artificial hands and arms spread out in front of her. I guess that was her way of addressing the false advertising complaints that we, as students, never saw, or were ever given the opportunity or the choice to use any of this equipment.
It is even more appalling to think that this equipment may have been available and she did not feel the need to offer them to us according to her promised website and hand book statements.
Instead she chose to limit our practical training to drawing blood only on each other, while claiming she had the appropriate equipment available.
I know the school is having a problem getting internship sites available for the 100 venipunctures that the students need to do before they can get accredited. These students are liabilities to these facilities and more and more they are not allowing them to come.
Of course the internship portion of this program is also promised and a fee of $50.00 is charged each student in anticipation of a timely placement. They are still waiting, as are some students from the previous class that ended in November 2010.
I anxiously await the responses that will be forthcoming from Medright, Inc. in answer to complaints to their accrediting board (NAACLS) and the attorney generals office.
I will not stop pursuing Medright, Inc. until they are exposed and stopped. So many have already been a victim to this fraud and they deserve some form of resolution.

Medright only had until today February 17th to answer the complaint filed against them from the Michigan Proprietary School Board. Obviously, it was taking them all this time to come up with their response. If you have integrity and nothing to hide I would think a timely response would be not only simple but desired.
