Mega Life, Healthcare Markets, Nase, Fraud, Deceptive sales tactics and incorrect information given to make the sale and "close the deal" Richland Hills Texas
Adding one more complaint in a long line of many others. We were shopping for health insurance in May of '07, we received most of our info from other companies over the phone. When it came to Mega health the "agent" said she was in the area and would rather come to our house and show us the information due to the fact that insurance is far too complicated to explain over the phone. She came with a very polished and obviously practiced presentation. Any questions we asked were answered only partially and she used the misdirection technique to get us off the subject. Needless to say we fell for it hook line and sinker... $400.00 premiums which included "riders" our "agent" sold us on. During the first six months or so of coverage we needed nothing in the way of Doctor or Dentist visits. As soon as we did try to use any medical or dental sevices including checkups, physicals, and other tests we received statements from Mega stating how much they would NOT pay. Example, Dental for $138 total services our liability was $138 We have a rider for Preventive care, When my wife went in for a Physical which Mega paid most of it. Then the doctor said she needed further tests which she did. All tests came out negative. We are now up to "patient liability" bills of apx $6300 with out anyone being sick. This is not insurance it is at best a very bad discount program where Mega pays almost nothing. When we call the company they point out that we have a deductible of $5000 per person and $4000 of coinsurance per person (not explained by the agent) which applies to any type of doctor visits, NON emergency also. This is not what we were told when we signed up. We were told only the emergency visits or hospital visits had deductible liabilities, which is common. If you are smart you will stay far away from anything that has to do with this group. If you work for these scammers you too are a scammer. By the way our "agent" is no longer with the company. By reading these posts I now see why. How about a CLASS ACTION lawsuit against these guys? Any takers if so contact me.
